Vintage Polish: Wet 'n' Wild Navy Blue 415

Vintage Polish Friday by Bedlam Beauty

I'm trying to keep this going. My eBay budget needs to be higher and/or I need to be more committed to the hunt. I am definitely more of a passive-searcher when it comes to these...but I'll keep looking...because nostalgia.

The internets tell me this shade might be called Denim Chrome, but I dunno. I never remember using a name for this polish, it was just Wet'n'Wild blue. I went through so many bottles of this as a teenager, I can't even imagine how many. This was practically required in 1995/96. This was one of the colors I chose when wearing black wasn't appropriate.

I sat on the floor of my bedroom, constantly painting my nails. I am fairly sure my memory problems because of the fumes. I may not have had a huge social life at 15/16, but dammit my nails were fabulous and flawless. Even back then, I was the go-to for polish-related-things among my pals. I had a massive collection...maybe twenty bottles. I know, I know...it is just crazy.

This is definitely a walk down memory lane with this color. I remember mixing this with white, and red, and that weird blue pearly shimmer to make my own polishes...I am definitely going to be on the hunt for more of these old WnW polishes. Though it does make me feel old.

  1. Wow, this really does bring back memories! I remember mixing this with white to make a pastel blue because Hard Candy didn't sell anywhere close to me! Thanks for sharing... :)

    2. I have this polish! My mother gave it to me, she hadn't used in since high-school. I'm actually currently wearing it on my nails as well haha. I never knew it was from so long ago!

  2. I can trace my love of nail polish to this exact color. My best friend in college painted my nails with it and it was love at first sight. I've never liked pink or red nail polish, and before this one I didn't know any other colors existed. I have somewhere around 50 bottles of polish now, and only one is red (and none are pink!).

  9. I think I had this polish when I was a teenager. Drying it makes me think of being 15ish, hanging out with friends and having zero cares in the world! Thanks for the flash back! Gorgeous swatches!

  12. Yes! I loved that color. It was even better than the shimmery purple they sold. And somehow, by 5th grade (1996-7), I had 60 bottles of nail polish. I was in no way popular, but I did get grudging compliments on my nails, dammit!
