Vintage Polish: Wet 'n' Wild Frosted Fuchsia 426

Another final Friday, another vintage shade of awesomeness. I am still plugging through the WnW package from the lovely Jeanette! Having something to look forward to on that last Friday is actually really helpful...especially now that school has started. Shuffling two kids to two different schools is a bit exhausting, and having a nice bright pink makes it all better.

This was the pink of choice for the girls who were awesome. This was a shade of pink I could wear and not be harassed by the family...but it was still slightly obnoxiously loud that I felt like me. I went through so many bottles of this over the years...and I think this particular shade my still be available somewhere. If nothing else, I am sure there are tons of dupes by now. None will ever be this shade though, not in my heart.

Why can't my hair be this color, guys? Why? This shade is everything that is right with the world...If I had to pick a lipstick to match this, I think it would be OCC Lip Tar in Anime...or maybe Pretty Boy, which I don't own (yet).

Do you have a deep and abiding love for pinks? I definitely do...and I think this one is the one that started it all.

  1. PINK!! I love this color. I have a close dupe that's more recent, but I can't remember the name.

    2. I think New York Color has something similar "fuchsia glamour" in their long-wear line (the original bottles were marked "pink champagne" but that was a bottle mix-up that has since been corrected)

  4. I skipped this one in favor of the more adventuresome WnW shades back in the '90s but definitely had a slightly lighter version in the '80s.

  5. Mhm. Yes. Much yes. Many yes. I went through *numerous* bottles of this way back when. I think I painted everything with it. Not just my nails. My walkman, and then later my discman, My notebooks. My mirrors. Oh yes. I had quite the love affair with this one. Sigh. *floaty hearts and fluttery eyes*

  6. So cool you had such a signature shade :) I never really painted my nails back in the days, I started basically to stop biting my nails!

  10. What a great pink! I was never into polish until recently. I bit my poor nails down too much. I wish I had been. I feel like I missed out when I see vintage polish posts!

  12. While I'm not a pink fan, I can appreciate a pretty pink color. I think my mom may have had this back in the day, I stole most of the polish I wore, from her.

    1. Same here, I stole most of my polish from my mom until I was about 13. I suffered through a lot of warm, bland mauves as a young woman.

  18. I wish I still had my vintage polishes that disappeared in a move. I only have a couple of old L'oreals left now. I had all sorts of old color slicks, maybelline, sally hansen, wetnwild, Merle Norman... *sigh*

    1. </3 Thats awful. Fun fact: I got my ears pierced at a Merle Norman store in 1988...and that was the last time I ever set foot into one of those stores!
