I'm trying to keep this going. My eBay budget needs to be higher and/or I need to be more committed to the hunt. I am definitely more of a passive-searcher when it comes to these...but I'll keep looking...because nostalgia.
The internets tell me this shade might be called Denim Chrome, but I dunno. I never remember using a name for this polish, it was just Wet'n'Wild blue. I went through so many bottles of this as a teenager, I can't even imagine how many. This was practically required in 1995/96. This was one of the colors I chose when wearing black wasn't appropriate.
I sat on the floor of my bedroom, constantly painting my nails. I am fairly sure my memory problems because of the fumes. I may not have had a huge social life at 15/16, but dammit my nails were fabulous and flawless. Even back then, I was the go-to for polish-related-things among my pals. I had a massive collection...maybe twenty bottles. I know, I know...it is just crazy.
This is definitely a walk down memory lane with this color. I remember mixing this with white, and red, and that weird blue pearly shimmer to make my own polishes...I am definitely going to be on the hunt for more of these old WnW polishes. Though it does make me feel old.
Wow, this really does bring back memories! I remember mixing this with white to make a pastel blue because Hard Candy didn't sell anywhere close to me! Thanks for sharing... :)ReplyDelete
YESSSS. How edgy did you feel with a custom color on your fingers?!Delete
I have this polish! My mother gave it to me, she hadn't used in since high-school. I'm actually currently wearing it on my nails as well haha. I never knew it was from so long ago!Delete
I can trace my love of nail polish to this exact color. My best friend in college painted my nails with it and it was love at first sight. I've never liked pink or red nail polish, and before this one I didn't know any other colors existed. I have somewhere around 50 bottles of polish now, and only one is red (and none are pink!).ReplyDelete
Isn't it amazing what the *right* color of polish can do?Delete
This polish was featured in many a 4th of July manis for me!ReplyDelete
so many. It is THE color.Delete
Do you feel like sitting in my bedroom watching MTV? Because we can do that again...ReplyDelete
This is one of the God Polishes of the '90s. So glowy, so blue, so everything.ReplyDelete
Yes...I feel like its almost a sacrament to wear it.Delete
Oh man! Wet and Wild. These polishes, a little bit of Pearl Jam, and a Seventeen magazine = a rainy Saturday afternoon.ReplyDelete

I think I had this polish when I was a teenager. Drying it makes me think of being 15ish, hanging out with friends and having zero cares in the world! Thanks for the flash back! Gorgeous swatches!ReplyDelete
:D Ahhh, nostalgia!Delete
Ooh awesome find!ReplyDelete

That is one seriously gorgeous deep blue. It looks like it glows theres so much depth to it. Beautiful photos.ReplyDelete
Haha, you keep cracking me up with your commentary. I really like the walks down memory lane. I hope you can keep them going!ReplyDelete
:D I intend to do it until ebay bans me!Delete
Yes! I loved that color. It was even better than the shimmery purple they sold. And somehow, by 5th grade (1996-7), I had 60 bottles of nail polish. I was in no way popular, but I did get grudging compliments on my nails, dammit!ReplyDelete
