Octopus Party Piece of Caicos

promotional samples ahead

I know, I know...I'm tardy. These are probably looong sold out by now, and you've probably seen these swatches 10,000 times...but here is my review anyway.

I love OPNL, so I only have glowing things to say about this polish...not the best for a review maybe? If you have tried OPNL before, you know what to expect from this polish already. I found this to be exactly what I expected formula-wise. I did need three coats, but that might just be my rabid hatred of sunshine-through-nails.

There are fine, delicate blue-green flakes throughout this pale turquoise holo. It is definitely a summertime/on a tropical beach sort of color. My only wish is that the flakes were a little more dispersed...or that the base were more sheer. I wanted to see those flakes all the time, not just as a flash of light here and there. I am going to have to give this a go when it isn't 80% humidity outside though, because I think that might help me get thinner layers and show off dem flakies a little more.

mmmmmmacro

even trying to catch flakies in the bottle was a challenge for me...
curse you, Mother Nature!
Better late than never, right?! I am always happy to show off Dave's shiny things. If these are all sold out (and they probably are), don't fret! OPNL is also carried by LLarowe now, so you have a second chance to catch these. You can also come hang out with the rest of us loons in The Octosquad and keep up on the latest OPNL news/swaps/sales or just share a picture of your most recent Octo-mani.

  1. I love flakies but hate how hard they are to photograph well. Stupid flakies. This color is super pretty!

    1. Why flakies have to be that way? Don't they know who we are?

  2. Lovely swatches, and I know right? What is up with this ridiculous weather. We pay higher prices in CA for weather better than this! :)

    2. I hear ya! I'm in FL where it's 90° and humid every day. So the AC is on every day, all day long and blowing cold air on me while doing my nails isn't fun,

    1. OPNL has definitely gotten wildly popular recently. We do have a pretty chill fangroup on facebook, and generally news of restocks is shared there first.
