promotional samples ahead
I know, I know...I'm tardy. These are probably looong sold out by now, and you've probably seen these swatches 10,000 times...but here is my review anyway.
I love OPNL, so I only have glowing things to say about this polish...not the best for a review maybe? If you have tried OPNL before, you know what to expect from this polish already. I found this to be exactly what I expected formula-wise. I did need three coats, but that might just be my rabid hatred of sunshine-through-nails.
There are fine, delicate blue-green flakes throughout this pale turquoise holo. It is definitely a summertime/on a tropical beach sort of color. My only wish is that the flakes were a little more dispersed...or that the base were more sheer. I wanted to see those flakes all the time, not just as a flash of light here and there. I am going to have to give this a go when it isn't 80% humidity outside though, because I think that might help me get thinner layers and show off dem flakies a little more.
|even trying to catch flakies in the bottle was a challenge for me...|
curse you, Mother Nature!
Better late than never, right?! I am always happy to show off Dave's shiny things. If these are all sold out (and they probably are), don't fret! OPNL is also carried by LLarowe now, so you have a second chance to catch these. You can also come hang out with the rest of us loons in The Octosquad and keep up on the latest OPNL news/swaps/sales or just share a picture of your most recent Octo-mani.
I love flakies but hate how hard they are to photograph well. Stupid flakies. This color is super pretty!ReplyDelete
Why flakies have to be that way? Don't they know who we are?Delete
Lovely swatches, and I know right? What is up with this ridiculous weather. We pay higher prices in CA for weather better than this! :)ReplyDelete
Haha! I nearly spat my coffee out! But you're right. This weather is against the rules.Delete
I hear ya! I'm in FL where it's 90° and humid every day. So the AC is on every day, all day long and blowing cold air on me while doing my nails isn't fun,Delete
I cant even imagine. I just got back from St Lousi, MO...it was too many warms!Delete
This is such a pretty color! I've been wanting to try this brand, but it always seems to be out of stock.ReplyDelete
OPNL has definitely gotten wildly popular recently. We do have a pretty chill fangroup on facebook, and generally news of restocks is shared there first.Delete
Beautiful shade! I have heard of OPNL but have not had a chance to try them out yet and it's killing me!ReplyDelete
Llarowe is always an option...http://www.llarowe.com/shop-all/octopus-party-nail-lacquer.htmlDelete
This color looks so good with your skin tone. I love the flakies!ReplyDelete
I love Piece of Caicos!!! I actually like how the flakies are so scattered and elusive lol!ReplyDelete
yes! I think the very careful use here helps set this shade apart.Delete
but they were so hard to catch!
Love love those Flakies in there! Gorgeous :)ReplyDelete
I'm so sad this one was gone by the time I got there :( I picked up three others that arrived today, though!ReplyDelete
Which ones did you get? As far as I can see, they are all pretty much awesome.Delete
The flakies were a bitch to capture in this one. Beautiful swatches as always Nichole!ReplyDelete
you're so awesome, joyseph.Delete
DAMMIT I love those flakies. GUH. Shame on you for posting swatches of such a needy polish because I'm so needy for this!!!ReplyDelete
you do the same to me! If you could go ahead and not post pretty things...that'd be great.Delete
So pretty! I keep wanting to try OPNL but I never catch them in stock.ReplyDelete
they are carried by llarowe now...though I know thats a touchy subjectDelete
I love your swatches! This color is so pretty =)ReplyDelete
<3 thank you so much!Delete
