Louboutin Manicure: a Good-bye to my Almond Nails

I have had this Louboutin polish for a thousand years. Since it was first released, and my darling spouse got it for me as a gift. This is the first time I have used it. I have it on my vanity, looking fancy and impractical. But then I cracked my index nail and had to have The Big Chop right before Halloween...so at the prompting of a pal I decided to give it a go.

First up, I used my favorite black: China Glaze Liquid Leather. It is a very stark, neutral black cream. That, when combined with my skin tone, gives my camera fits and makes everything weird. I tried to color correct it...but gave up. It's a good black, and I am very pale...so contrast is a pain. But it sings to my mom-goth heart.

This is one coat, under a layer of Seche Vite.

Then, against my better judgement because I hate things under my nails, I dusted off my Louboutin and painted the undersides of my nails. I feel like I need loooooong nails for this, and my nails were only long.  But it looked really neat, even if it felt like nails on a chalkboard to my soul.

This polish is really fancy, and I need to just use it. Well, it isn't fancy but I feel fancy when I wear it. 2020 being the way it is, I say grab joy where ever you can find it. With that said, I think my sad nubs might get a fancy manicure this weekend.
