Cuticula for Polish Pickup March 2020 | Ancient History

Cuticula is bringing it to the Polish Pickup for the Ancient History theme. A trio of delectibly scented products that, reportedly, work wonders when used together. I have been sniffing and enjoying these scents for a few days, and I am ready to share my thoughts.

Cinque Treatment Base Coat
If you are in the Cuticula Fan Group on Facebook, you'll have seen plenty of folk waxing estatic about this base coat. It is supposed to be hydrating and wonderful for growth. I really love Mic Drop, so I haven't really paid much mind to anything else lately. But I wanted to give this a proper review for science so I decided to give it a try!
"This formula contains 5 vitamins, 5 botanicals, and a strengthening ingredient that work together to provide 5 benefits. This treatment is nourishing, hydrating, and revitalizing. It hardens nails and stimulates growth using vitamins A, B5, C, E, and F. The 5 botanicals in this amazing treatment are Aloe, Lemon, Ginseng, Grape, and Pomegranate.
Use this treatment as a base coat under your manis or wear it alone in 2 coats and apply it twice a week. This Base Coat is so shiny and looks really nice as a stand alone treatment on natural nails."
My nails these days are pretty thrashed. The cold weather plus the puddle of sadness in which I have been wallowing have really done a number on my nails. This test couldn't have been better timed. I'll be back in a few weeks with B&A pictures and a proper review. I can say that I agree that this base is glossy and has a nice plush look on bare nails. I threw a single coat on here for this picture.

Cuticula Cinque Base Coat

Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat
This is my current go-to for nail art. It isn't as thick as some other qdtc, but it doesn't smear and smudge my nail art or drag glitters around. As I am trying to light the nail art spark again, this topper pretty much stays on my work table all the time. I have a full review here

Cuticula Limitless Top Coat

Confection Nail Fortifier
I was looking back to link to a proper review for this...but I haven't done one yet! For shame. I am really enjoying this little tub of lotion, especially now that my blessed Body Shop hand lotion has been discontinued. I keep a couple of tubs on my desk, one upstairs by my bedside, and one in my knitting kit. I like it as a regular hand lotion. It is soft and hydrating without being greasy or sticky, and the scents are yummy. My only gripe is the container. I would give at least one of my children for this stuff to come in a squeeze tube.

Cuticula Confection Nail Fortifier

The scent this month is Herculade. To my nose it smells fresh and fruity, with the Confection has more of a clean aura than the treatments. The Cinque really smells like peaches to me, and I can't stop sniffing my hands. I have had Cinque and Limitless on for about seven hours (at the time of writing) and it still smells. Do you remember the Georgia Peach blush from Benefit Cosmetics back in the day? This reminds me of how I wished that stuff smelled. Sweet, fresh, fruity...on top of peach.

Amanda says:
"'Herculade' has top notes of mango, lime, nectarine, orange and grapefruit. Middle notes of peach, ginger flowers, pink pepper and clove leaves with bottom notes of musk and hint of vanilla. The scent description does not do this scent any justice. Don't let this scent description fool you, It smells just like a gummy bear slushie!"
I get the middle notes the strongest, but that citrusy-fresh on top is there too. I can definitely see the gummy bear vibe here...and I also need a gummy bear slushy. I didn't even know those were a thing! I always try to decide what the scents are before I read her description (or anyone elses) so that I can make my own opinion. You can ask Amanda, I have been messaging her with "Is it this?" everytime I sniff something new. The things I do for science, yall.

These will all be available from PPU in March. Hopefully by then I will have my review of Cinque. If the raves are true, I may have found my new soul nailmate.
