It is Polish Pickup time again, and I am kicking things off with a beautifully nearly-blurple shade from Nailed It Nail Polish! This month's theme is Urban Legends, and there are a ton of spooky sparklers coming at us!
This pretty shade is a soft blurply-purply-indigo-violet jelly filled with autumnal shifting flakes and auroral glow. It is at once Fall and Halloween, but without screeching it into your face. Definitely a good, work-appropriate shade for the impending holidays. It is a traditional jelly formula, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
It reminds me a tiny bit of a better, bigger Fantasy Fire. It has a similar, albeit less pronounced shift and the violet could definitely put this in the same family. The flakes have a similar shift, but more rusty and olive...like fall leaves. I dig it, especially with my semi-new pointy nails.
The inspiration for this one is the Nightmarchers. According to Wikipedia, they are the ghosts of deadly Hawaiian warriors who march across battlefields on particular feast days. You can read more here, but I would categorize this legend along with most of the battlefield legends around the world. I always wonder about so many disparate cultures having the same thread in their history...maybe it could be aliens the truth?
This polish launches on Friday! It has a lower cap, so if you like it you better grab it while you can! The new bottles are so nice and the label is the prettiest thing ever.
