It's Polish Pickup time again, and I accidentally did some bloggery things this month! I'm kicking off the swatchstravaganza with the Fair Maiden offering for the At the Carnival theme. It's delicious, shifty, and super pink. It's a great way to kick off my fresh new nail shape!
The offering this month from the maidens fair is a pretty, feminine thermal polish stuffed with iridescent flakes and the lovely aurora shimmer. Also, it's a thermal. I know. I am not well known for having a love of thermals...but I actually like this one. The pictures here are a real life manicure and not just a temporary swatch. I wore this, mostly chip free, for about 12 days. It has a nice opacity, and I only needed two coats for these pictures. I have a pretty aggressive nail line, but I think this covers pretty well.
It removes about like you expect a polish with these flakes to remove. I like to soak a bit of cotton in acetone remover and let it soak on my nails for a few minutes. Then I take a clean cotton ball, saturated with more remover, and remove the cotton in one swoop. It removes about 95% of the polish and flakes. Anything left gets washed away with the next hand washing.
The lovely maidens were inspired by the carnival scene in Despicable Me when Agnes gets her beloved unicorn. Which, by the way, is my youngest childs favorite scene in that movie.
When it is cold, it is a delightfully cool-toned pink. I honestly saw this most of the time while wearing this because I am
actually a wight and not a person a cold-blooded person.
When I actually moved around, this is what it looked like for me. A pale, milky pink with the deeper tips. I feel like this state really showed off the orangey glow of the shimmer and flakes.
When I had a shower or woke up in the morning, I was treated to the bright pale pink/white shade. This reminds me of barbie clothes from the 80s, and I definitely feel my old-lady heart respond to this one. I had this date night Barbie & Ken set that had a dress/suit outfit set that was the cool shade of pink + white plastic with iridescent shimmer + glow in the dark stars. I wish this glowed in the dark. I may need to stamp this with glow in the dark polish. For science.
This polish, and 800,000,000 more will be available at the Polish Pickup on August 02, 2019 at 11am eastern. It will run you $11, and there is no cap!
