The Lady Varnishes Nobody's That Heartless | Polish Pickup June 2018 | Video Games

The Lady Varnishes has a lovely neutral for the Polish Pickup this month. You know how I feel about a good neutral, and I was super surprised to find one in the video game month! Pleasantly surprised, in fact!

This is a warm, taupey neutral with a strong corally shifting shimmer and cobalt flakes and the occasional holo twinkle. I'm not sure if I'm seeing actual holo or if I am just hallucinating. Either way, it is a very pretty shade. It is a little sheer (not in a bad way) and I used three coats to get the look here. The formula was a little thick, but the flakes behave so nicely that I don't even care. I didn't have to dab or fuss to get the flakes evenly dispersed. 

The only note I would make is to folks who, like me, use a latex base because they can't commit. This polish is not a fan of the latex. As soon as it started to set, it began to bubble against the base. I tested this later over Gelous (my normal base coat) and it was fine.

If you are medium to deep skintoned, I think this would look amazing on you. In fact, I need you to tag me so my theory can be confirmed. I can see this being super work-appropriate for pretty much everyone.

That sunset shift is soooo lovely.
