Emily de Molly | Catching Up

Emily de Molly is one of my favorite brands. Not only are the polishes breathtaking and unique, but the mind behind the brand is a gem of a human. I am always happy to put her polish on, and even happier when I can share it with you guys. I have had this post half-finished forever, and now its time to post it. I see a few of these that would make lovely additions to any wishlist.

Emily de Molly | Catching Up

(promotional samples ahead)

Undo Whats Done | two coats + Seche Vite
This is a lovely medium blue shade with pink to copper shimmer. It applies very similar to a cream, which is always nice because I think creams, when done right, apply the easiest.  The shimmer gives is a very velveteen finish...though when you pet it it does not feel like that even a little. I was half-disappointed in that. But it glows so nicely that I'll let it slide.

This Moment | two coats + Seche Vite
This is a fresh penny copper linear holo filled with holo glitters and cobalt flakes. It is bright and flashy and somehow SFW and wearable. I dunno how she does it. If you've ever tried an EdM holo, you'll know the fluid magic that her formulas are...and this one is right in line with that.

The Amber Palace | two coats + Seche Vite
This is a ruddy wine jelly with an explosion of multichrome flakes, holo glitter and awesomeness. There is something that reminds me of Christmas with this polish. It may be because I had a wreath with fake holly berries on it. After being exposed to the elements, the clear wine colored film on the styrofoam berries peeled off...and it was just like a jelly polish. Current-day Me would have just painted them with this polish and moved on. The formula here is so amazingly fluid, you would never know this is a densely packed jelly. I don't know how she does it.

Secret Sacrifice | three coats + Seche Vite
This is a true purple jelly drenched in iridescent flakes, holo sparkle, and I swear I see some multichrome flakes in there too. It's like the easter version of Amber Palace. The macro here also reminds me of seashells too...like they have been crushed into shards on a rocky beach. This is a twofer polish: it looks killer layered over a black cream. Buy one, get two. Who doesn't like that?

Now and Later | two coats + Seche Vite
If you don't suddenly crave stiff, dental-work-threatening candies...I don't know if we can be friends. This sucker is a bright, almost neon coral filled with shifting gold shimmer and silver flakes. It is bright and happy and reacts to UV light...and we all know how I feel about that. Looking at it now, I almost wish I had applied a matte coat to this. The formula was nice and smooth, though a touch on the thicker side.

Midnight Serenade | two coats + Seche Vite
This is a sexy sexy purple with a soft multichrome-esque glow. It is both eye-catching and refined. I love how it photographs...and it is twice as pretty in person. This feels like, to me, a nice grown up shade of violet. That sneaky little shift is just bonus.

Heavy Aura | two coats + Seche Vite
I can't be objective with this shade. Its a soft, dusty rose. Like a foggy sunrise. I am in love. I consider this a neutral shade, and I think everyone needs a nice collection of neutrals. The holo just gives it a little kick. It's so nice and creamy, that the application level for this one is beginner. Anyone can slap this baby on and end up with a lovely manicure.

Everlasting Gaze | two coats + Seche Vite
Hello oceanic holo! This soft, teal green holo is filled with bonus iridescent flakes. It reminds me a lot of a Monet painting, but I can't put my finger on why. I missed taking the "money shot" macro, but trust me when I say it has a nice little shift when you catch it at low light.

Copper Patina | two coats plus Seche Vite
This shade was a lemming for me for a ridiculously long time. It is a creamy turquoise with a soft pinky-copper shimmer. It is the exact shade of aged copper...and I love it. I have longed for this shade for so long, that its just magical in my mind. It applies like a cream, and I am wondering if it would stamp too.

I think this concludes my EdM romance novel. It is one of my favorite brands, and it kills me that I sat on these swatches for so long. Happily, most of these are still available in the US shop. You need a few of these. At least five, I promise.
