Octopus Party Nail Lacquer | Winter 2017

It has been to long since I have had some Octopus Party Nail Lacquer on the blog. Today, we rectify that with the newest collection. It is a five-piece collection of some really unconventional holiday shades. I do have a favorite here, and I bet it isn't the one you'd expect.

Cranberry Boss | two coats + Seche Vite

This is a warm metallic muted cranberry holo dusted with pink flakes. I think this is the most universal shade in the collection. This is the shade you want to give that non-indie-obsessed person you want to push down the indie rabbit hole on your holiday list. I think this is a color even your mom will love.

Reindeer Wolfcastle | two coats + Seche Vite

This is a neutral medium brown holo with metallic flakes, holo, and a wood nymph glow. It reminds me of a disco version of oil rubbed bronze. I think this is definitely a nice neutral, especially if you are medium-to-deep and neutral or cool toned. The holo flakes next to those gold ones give this a cozy vibe that is just right for the Fall/Winter era.

Ice Ice Maybe | three coats + Seche Vite

This is a pale, dusty greenish blue. It reminds me of Dusty Miller, which my grandmother had all over her garden. It has a heathly rainbow on top of the muted blue that is impressive in pretty much every type of light. You will want to do thin coats here, so you can get that "limpid pool" effect.

Ornamental Thug | two coats + Seche Vite

This is a frosty jade green holo with a twinkling of gold glitters (or flakes?) inside. It would be excellent for St Patricks Day, really. There is a slightly blue hue at angles, which is a lovely thing to discover while watching tv in a dark room. The formula on this one is a bit on the thicker side, and I think I may thin this sucker next time I wear it.

Holly Folly | three coats + Seche Vite

This is a warm, deep, swampy olive green jelly filled with sunset iridescent flakes. It looks a little more sheer in these pictures than it is in real life. Jellies always give me fits in pictures. But in real life this is a deep, nearly opaque finish with a good solid formula.
