How about some Octopus Party Nail Lacquer spam? I've been trying to get my sea-legs back, so I have a lovely post for you guys today. It is filled to the brim with sparkly Octo-goodness.
(promotional samples ahead)
The Pleasure Principal
This is as good a place to start as any! Multichrome is the name of the game here, and this shimmering siren is in top form. I was worried about the shimmer in this one leaving me with brush strokes, but the shimmer practically dissolved into itself to create the streak-free finish below. It is also deliciously opaque. I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for this pictures.
The 10th House
Dave does black holos like practically no one else. He has a deep, abiding love for them...and for that we should be forever grateful. This is a lovely example; full of bronze shimmer, iridescent flakes, and cobalt sparks. It is almost creamy in formula, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Soft Swerve
This is a muted, cool lavender jelly holo filled with iridescent flakes. I find this supremely wearable, and I have to admit that I love the OPNL purpley shades. Just letting my bias fly here. This one is surprisingly opaque, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite here.
Octopus Prime
This lovely oceany aqua jelly holo is filled with iridescent hexes and shimmering aquatic flakes. If you ever felt like you needed to have a tropical sea on your fingers, well...this is your shade. It was a group custom for the Octosquad, as proof that Dave loves us. It applies slightly sheer but oh-so-pretty. I used three thin coats plus a layer of Seche Vite here.
#twinning
This shade sings to me. It is a true, delightful fuchsia holo with a soft jelly finish. This shade. I loooove fuchsia, so yeah. But I do love it. It applies really nice and evenly, though I did use three coats here plus a layer of Seche Vite.
Maui Wowie
Does this shade remind anyone else of King Conch? Because it reminds me of King Conch (which was a shade I had commissioned. Go check out the above link). It is very similar...except this one is stuffed with iridescent hexes and flakes. It has a very typical OPNL holo formula, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Fun fact: the first time I heard the term "Maui Wowie" was actually on Maui. Some random dude was chanting it in downtown Lahaina. It was a million years ago, but I always thought it was so awkward. Like...dude, we get it. You're a drug dealer. Don't be a creep.
Cribbage and The Horse
If I'm honest, this one is not for me. I am historically not a fan of yellows. And this is yellow. It really doesn't suit my pasty skin at all. Go check The Shop for a much better representation of this shade. This is a very springy, bright, happy yellow filled with gold shimmer and iridescent flakes. It is definitely more on the creamy side, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite here.
Blue York
Oh look, I have a souvenir from PCNY! This brilliant Caribbean blue holo has a luscious shift that dances from gold to green. The pink flakes give it a dazzling life, and it would be the best base for a mermaid manicure. It does apply slightly sheer, and I used three coats plus a layer of Seche Vite here.
Whew! That post sure was a long time coming. I am still digging though my backlog of pictures from my protracted moving-related hiatus. Which one was your favorite? I think that I actually like Maui Wowie the best here. It has a mischievous twinkle to it that I think is really fun. Let me know below if you have a special shade here...and you might check the shop because there are always a few special bits hanging around in there.
Oh, pants. Now I'm DISO Blue York. THANKS NICHOLE.
