Lush Cosmetics | Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb

It is no secret by now that I am a newly minted Lush Cosmetics fan. The bath bombs are a special favorite for my whole family (well, except the husband. He loves Kalamazoo like no other). My kids think the bath bomb corral is second only to Toys 'Я' Us. Semi-recently, I grabbed a wee robot at my local store, and I figured I would snap a few pictures...before the tiny human kicked me out.

This bomb is geared mainly at kids. It is among the smallest bombs available locally, and is definitely the most affordable. It is great for "hey, let's get you a treat" days for any kid. The robot shape makes it happily gender neutral, which is great if you have two kids of opposing sexes who will whine if they think the sibling got something better. Nice and neutral, and still under $10 for a pair.

The scent is supposed to be bedtime friendly with lavender, sandalwood, and chamomile. It is a less sweet fragrance than I expected, which is good because Lush bombs traditionally flood my house with their perfume. This bomb, in particular, didn't pack as much punch as others we have tried. I think because it is about a third of the size of the traditional bombs. Which, again, is perfect for kids. I never fill the tub up more than halfway for them anyway. They splash.

My youngest child has "itchy skin". She's always been on the more sensitive side, so I am fairly careful about the bath bubbles, bombs and soaks that she gets. This kid doesn't really enjoy the Mr. Bubble. But this bomb left her skin "sooo soft. FEEL. I'm like a bunny." It didn't leave her very scented...which is a bit of a mixed bag. I do enjoy when she smells like flowers, and not so much like playground and dollar-store body spray. (Thanks for that last one, Mom)

It isn't the most spectacular fizzer. It is a simple, solid color bomb. The kids love that it fizzes, and that is basically the end of its majesty. Because it is so small, the fizzing is over pretty quick. And the color, being a pale bleached-out blue, dissipates in a half-full tub pretty quick. I managed to snap two quick pictures before it was just a mass of aqua tinted bubbles.

It isn't all that much to write home about, but it is a great little pick-me-up for the wee folk. Or yourself, I don't judge. My only problem with this bomb is the dumb-ass name. It irks me, like nails on a chalkboard. I can't even say it in my own head. But for under $5, I think I can just deal.

  2. Lush Bath Bombs rule. I like that this one is more simplistic. It saves you from that post bath scrub.
