If you have ever wanted to try a wide range of indie polishes on a budge, then A Mini Indied box is for you. It is eight polishes in delightfully compact sizes, great for a gift or a nice sampling. The theme for this box was "Urban Safari", so each brand created a shade inspired by their hometowns. It is pretty fun to see the range of colors from across the country.
(promotional samples ahead)
Leesha's Lacquer Cherry Cherry Spoon Spoon
This is a cool, vibrant red jelly filled with metallic flakes and holo sparkle. If you ever needed to look like a disco candied apple, then this is your shade. It applied smooth and lovely, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Bluebird Lacquer Casa Bonita
This is a pretty cool pink jelly/cream hybrid filled with tropical blue shimmer and iridescent and metallic blue glitters. I am generally terrible at applying shades like this
because I have no patience for anything like some sort of child but this one was really easy to apply and didn't need any fussing with to be pretty. I laid down two normal coats and a layer of Seche Vite for the pictures below.
Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer Grab Your Lederhosen
This is a golden, faded caramel filled with golden shimmer and a faint dusting of iridescent flakes. It reminds me of a glaze somehow, though I can't explain why. It is a little on the sheer side, and I really want to try layering this over a bright gold holo. To reach this level, I applied three thin layers plus a coat of Seche Vite.
Envy Lacquer Disney Phill
This is right up my alley. You guys know how I feel about these faded shades, and this one is a true gem. Its a soft, dusty blue holo filled with icy flakes that give it a nice violet shift. It applies like a cream, and was perfectly opaque in two regular coats.
Alter Ego Memories of Union Terrace
This one is a multitasker! I have seen it over brilliant blues, but it is equally lovely on its own. It is a sheer cerulean shade filled with pale gold glitters. If you are a fan of nail art, this is a must have. How pretty would this be layered over a galaxy manicure? I used three coats here, plus a layer of Seche Vite and I actually kinda dig it.
Joy Lacquer Miner's Landing
This is a saturated, vibrant medium blue filled with pale green holo glitters and a rich plummy swirl of tiny flakes. It definitely gives it a shifty look, and I love that in blues like this. This one was nice and opaque, and I only needed two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Turtle Tootsie Polishes Liberty Bell
This shade really rings my bell (anyone? heh? No? okay then.) This is a smokey raisin colored jelly base filled with aged brass flakes. It really does look like what I would assume a big-ass bell looks like. The formula is pretty sweet, and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
So what is the verdict? Are you itching to try out this super-affordable grab bag? You may be wondering right now about that eighth polish I mentioned...well that one is a surprise! Anddd the next surprise is that there is a fun and easy trivia quiz you can fill out that, if you win, you have the chance to have one random shade upgraded to a full sized bottle! I'm a nerd for trivia, so this is right up my alley!
While I am a little tardy, there are still a couple in stock in the Joy Lacquer shop.
