When you are looking for a good, complex, creamy holo you should look no further than Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer. I was very honored when she asked me if I could swatch her shade for the very first Polish Pickup. The theme this month was "Famous Works of Art", so I was pretty stoked.

The inspiration behind this stunning blue is Calanque (six o'clock in the evening) by Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer. It is peaceful and soft, definitely a good spark for a strong polish.

Inlet at Dusk is a lovely, saturated sky blue with a lot going on underneath. There is a nice holo rainbow that sparkles over some teeny shifting flakes. It definitely feels like sunset to me. That warm pink-gold flash from the flakes reminds me of the dying light over the bay.
The formula was pretty great too. If you have any other BeG shades, you know that creamy formula well. This one doesn't disappoint at all. I used two normal coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.

I even managed to catch the shift! It is one of those that shows up a lot more in person than on camera.
This shade, and seventeen others from all different brands, is available via pre-order at PolishPickup.com. Think of the Polish Pickup as a rotating monthly pop-up polish shop that you control. Each month has a different theme that is chosen by the fans, so there will never be the same "sparkly rainbow/flowers/glitter lips" inspired polish. You can buy one or all of them, and the shipping is only $3. I already grabbed a few for April, and there is still time for you to grab yours!
This was a fun box to purchase because we could make it as small or large as we want. I think I ended up getting 3 polishes - not too many, not too few.
ReplyDeleteI bought three as well. I can't wait for next months theme!

ReplyDeleteI'm usually not a fan of light blues, but I really like this one. I think it's that shimmer that's making me love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful - I feel like it definitely matches its inspiration :)
