Powder Perfect Stamping Plates

Powder Perfect is my go-to for stamping gear these days. One of my new goals for 2017 is to master this skill, and this set up is really putting me on the right path. I tested out the first three jumbo image plates for an extended period, and I am finally ready to share my pictures and thoughts.

(promotional samples ahead)

Before we take a look at some of the manicures I created with these plates, let me wax poetic about them a little bit. These plated completely impressed me. They might be the nicest plates in my collection...though I am in my infancy when it comes to stamping. I spent over a month with these plates. I tested them on multiple stampers, with multiple polishes, in multiple weathers. I wanted to really get a feel for them.

Despite my bumbling, these plates behaved admirably. I didn't cry during any of the arting here...hell, I didn't even want to. I think it any difficulty that I experienced had more to do with my scraping technique than anything. I tend to be a little timid in my swipe, and sometimes I don't get a clean depostiting of polish. I did notice that my MoYou clear stamper doesn't behave well with these plates, but I think that is the stamper. The more I test that thing, the angrier it makes me. My cheapy BPS marshmallow stamper performed wonderfully. That thing is a tank, I tellya.

tl;dr, I will forever buy Powder Perfect plates. She's coming out with some Christmas ones, and I can't wait to move so I can order those and her clear stamper.

Art Deco Plate 01-XL
This plate is my favorite non-Halloween plate. I have always loved deco style, and when I saw previews of this one way back in July, I definitely drooled a little. The peacock, especially, excited me. I have been wanting to try my hand at decals more, and that design really begs for it.

Egypt Plate 01-XL
This plate has some really stunning images...that pair really nicely with the Deco plate. I have a slight life-long obsession with Egypt. I wanted to be an Egyptologist or maybe a historian. Instead, I became a housewife and a nail blogger...who wears Egyptian-themed nail polish. The images were all nice and crisp here. I only had trouble with two images here, though I am 99% sure that it was user-error. One of the cats in the center gave me grief, but not in the same way each time I attempted. I think I need to practice my scraping. The pharaoh head was a similar problem. I have never had an image so large, and it was very challenging. I eventually got it, but not without a few tries.

Halloween 01-XL
Of course, this is my favorite. Of course. It is Halloween, and therefore the best plate ever to ever. I have played with this a few times, and every image is just lovely. My surprise favorite is the goofy monsters. They are just so cute. I was really impressed with the "caution" tape image, and I absolutely need to make some yellow and black caution nails. For science. All of these images are finer but still complex. They give noobs like me a boost of confidence because you get a detailed image, but without a lot of fuss.

I tried different images out in different manicures, and I am really pleased overall. I wanted to try these with different colors, brands, stampers...because I know that when you are just starting out, it is hard to know which plate does best with which polish/scraper/stamper/lunar phase. I hope this post was helpful to you guys, I know it was a helluva lot of fun to make. I can't wait to finish my move so I can buy the next plates...maybe she'll make another Halloween plate too?
