CrowsToes Nail Color gets me. Even the wintry collections have that dark edge to them...and I like it. I have the most recent quartet to share today, and I am beyond excited. Let's get into it.
(promotional samples ahead)
Over & Over
This is a metallic, warm hyper-violet filled with orange holo glitters and tiny iridescent sparkly bits. The glitters float nicely along the nail, and I didn't have to fuss with them at all here. Speaking of activity, I recommend two medium coats instead of three, like I used here, to avoid getting too thick a finished look. It is also a tiny bit on the thirsty side, and I think it would really shine with a light layer of Gelous and then Seche. I only used Seche Vite here, and I want more life sparkle.
Murder in the 2nd
Did you ever want to paint the sky multichrome? Well, this is what it would look like. This is a twilight plum metallic multichrome sprinkled with holo twinkles and green iridescent flakes. It shifts strongly to teal and navy, but fluttering fingers can catch the purple end pretty easily. It needs three thin coats to get the right depth and vibrancy, but only two for true opacity. I threw on a light layer of Seche Vite for these pictures too.
Mjolnir
I must confess that this name means something different to me than Thor's hammer. But I am told that this is an appropriate color to bear the name. This is a blazing blood orange metallic multichrome filled with holo glitter. This might actually be my favorite. It is like all the colors of late Fall right on my fingers...plus holo. How can that be wrong? I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite, but I think this one would also enjoy a layer of Gelous too.
Death Warmed Over
This is a wraith-like multichrome filled with iridescent flakes and dusted with holo stars. Now this one reminds me of the Mjolnir I linked above. This one was the trickiest to photograph, by far. The flakes, while alive at angles in person, just seem to lay flat below the rose flash in pictures no matter what I did. The formula was easy and I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite here.
I am a CT fangirl. It was one of the first indie brands that I truly lusted after...thanks to Amanda. And I have yet to come across a shade that I find just so-so. What about you? Do you have a favorite?
I loved this collection, I think my favorite is Death Warmed Over, I have seen nothing like it and I especially loved it matte.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the other shades just because I'm not a huge metallic fan, but Murder in the 2nd is definitely my shade. I want to paint my helmers with that.
ReplyDeleteMissed your nails chica! Hope the move is all done & you all are settled in. :) My favorite CT is Indian Summer - one of my favorite all time polishes too!
