There isn't much better than an Octopus Party. Except for, maybe, a quartet of exclusive shades for Ella Ann Cosmetics. I have the four exclusives to share today, and lemmetellya it is pretty damned awesome.
(promotional samples ahead)
Stag Party
This is a cool coffee bean colored holo filled with coppery micro flakes. It is a lovely take on the typical brown "fall" color, with just enough dust in there to keep it modern. It applies nicely, though I think it prefers medium coats as opposed to thin ones. I used two medium here, and it really let the shimmers glow.
On The Frocks (over WnW Breeze on By)
This is a frosty glitter topper filled with violet, blue and clear iridescent glitters. It is one of those toppers that looks different over whatever color you apply it. I chose a pale periwinkle shade because I am obsessed I thought it would compliment the shades nicely. I used two coats brushed on normally followed by a layer of Seche Vite. I tried sponging it on...but I just didn't love how it looked that dense.
Edge of Velveteen
If you aren't singing a certain song by now, we can't be friends. This crushed raspberry holo looks just like velveteen. I have a dusty blue jewelry box that feels just like this color looks like it should feel. It has a delicate, subdued holo flare that is surprisingly evident even in normal lighting. It applied the tiniest bit sheer, which I think is preferable for the best final look. I used three coats here plus a layer of Seche Vite.
Amulet
No holiday collection is complete without a little glitz and glam. This is a saturated gold holo with a ridiculous amount of gold holo glitters and probably some gold flakes. It's madness. Imagine later afternoon sun dancing across water...then add holo. It applies without any fussing or smushing, and I used three thin coats for these pictures, followed by a thin layer of Seche Vite.
I must admit, I love the unconventional vibe of this Winter quartet. It is a nice breath of fresh air in a season so drenched in typical holiday colors. I think my favorite might have to be...On the Frocks. But Edge of Velveteen is a really great SFW shade...oh I can't choose. Which one do you like the best?

I think you described it perfectly - Dave's eye for color is very modern. He picks up on the less obvious ways to interpret the seasons and I love it!
