Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Three Years and S-Teal Going

Oh Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer...you make such shiny things. Even the restrained, subtle things are stunning.  I already used this shade once before, in my failed HPB goldfish nail art, but I thought it could use a post of its own. It is such a bright, peppy shade...and with Fall settling on some parts of the world, a pop of color might be nice.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Three Years and S-Teal Going

This is a warm, oversaturated aqua blue jellyish with subtle pinkish flakes and a sprinkle of silvery holo sparkle. Because it is that kind of blue, it does have a slight skunk to it...which my brain associates with the best blues. I know...weird. But all the good, saturated blues have that faint skunk to them. I want to say it is because of the pigments...but I don't know. I'm not a golfer.

The formula isn't bad here, but in the high humidity it can be a bit troublesome. For these swatches, I used three coats and still has a few streaks...but for the aforementioned nail art, I used three thin coats and was completely opaque and happy. Weather really does make a difference guys. I dunno why more reviews don't mention the weather.

Even when it gives me trouble, I still love this shade. I mean, it is UV reactive...so I can forgive anything. What do you think? Are you ready for some more lively shades, or are you still enjoying the vamp?

  1. Gorgeous swatch! You really were able to capture the very subtle holo in the polish in your macro. While I am always down for vamp colors alllll year round, I am equally opportunistic to lively shades as well 😉

  2. You know, I had a similar issue with a yellow I reviewed for her. I couldn't get the formula to play nice, but I seemed to be the only one who was having humidity issues. Weather is a serious game changer.
