Literary Lacquers Nailed Collection

What do you think of when you hear the name "Literary Lacquers"? If you are a well-adjusted human, it should be books and polish. So it should be no surprise when Amy of Literary Lacquers decided to collaborate with a writer to created a collection inspired by a book...and of course, it is a steamy erotic novel. But don't worry, this post is totally SFW.

Literary Lacquers Nailed Collection

(promotional samples ahead)

Afterglow
This is a warm, rusty orange foil shade filled with gold flakes. It reminds me of the glaze on decorative pumpkins you would find at the craft store...and with Halloween coming I am going to need about two gallons of this stuff. The formula was great, and I needed two normal coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for the pictures here.

for science, I threw on a matte coat.

Arousal
This is a hyper-saturated red-coral jelly filled with pink and gold flakes. Don't be fooled by how red it looks on me, in the sun it shines a true vibrant coral. The formula was lovely, and I used two normal coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for the picture below. Which, frankly, surprised me. My nails are a little on the longer side here, and I was surprised that two coats was enough to hide the nail line.

Love (over Orgasm)
This is a super linear holo topper with some sneaky glitters thrown in to make me look like a fool the first time I tried to write this paragraph. They twinkle almost ultra-violetly, hiding in plain sight. I threw one coat over Orgasm and it was a lovely, evenly dispersed rainbow.

Orgasm
I think I'll call you...sexy. This subtle almost multichrome shifts from warm violet to wine in all the best ways. It is a tiny bit on the sheer side, and I think that three coats is best...especially if you have longer nails. The formula is just wonderful though, and it was a breeze to apply.

Passion (over black & white creams)
Just when you thought it was safe to look at toppers...we get this delectable puddle of gold iridescent shards swirling in a gently holo base. I tried one coat over a black and white cream...and I don't know which I prefer. Every base color makes a different aspect spring forward...I need to do more testing.

The Edge*
This is a perfectly purple polish...that is filled with holo and iridescent flakes. Dammit. I was going for the aliteration and it fell apart on me there...If you are familiar with Literary Lacquers holos, then you know the high quality you'll get with this shade. It applies evenly and smooth, and I used two coats here. I dunno if I am wild about the flakes in this polish, but the formula is so great that I give them a pass.

*this shade is actually the Birthday 2016 Limited Edition shade and it is no longer available. It actually isn't part of the collection...but dammit it sure is pretty.

Tia Wanna (accent The Edge)
I admit, I giggled at the name of this one. It is a blue glitter-bomb in a blue tinted base. There are holo hexes, metallic squares, and sparkling microglitters.  It is deceptively opaque (and yet somehow still relatively smooth) and I only used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite. I decided to give it a try over The Edge, and I think it is actually a pretty good topper. Maybe a touch dense...but still fun.

Time for a slideshow? Don't mind if I do!

This collection is available right now in the Literary Lacquers shop. It is a wonderfully diverse collection that actually has something for everyone, and the toppers just give it a great variability. I think my favorite is, obviously, that vampy Orgasm. It is just too perfect for this time of year!
