Vapid Nail Lacquer knows just the way into my heart. Absolutely no one is surprised that the way is paved with sexy, sparkly colors. Fall 2016 is looking pretty damned amazing, guys. There are at least three shades here that are must-have-or-dies. Let's check them out!
(promotional samples ahead)
Are you looking for the perfect orange holo for Fall 2016? Well...I found it. We can all stop looking. You're welcome. This is the right shade of pumpkin orange that will flatter a wide range of skintones, and the holo is just delicious. It has a sprinkling of red-orange flakes that give it a vibrancy and fire...sigh. It's orange and I like it. I must be high on pumpkin spice. I used one coat here and a layer of Seche Vite.
Distressed
This is a medium blue holo with a rosy copper-to-greenish-gold shimmer and filled with tiny holographic flakes. It reminds me a lot of a twilight sky and a school of fish swimming below the surface of a cold ocean. The formula on this one is amazing, and I used just one coat here under a layer of Seche Vite.
Firestarter
I posted this one a bunch, and I think it might be my favorite. It is so deliciously sexy. This is a bold, seductive satiny red. The quintessential vampy red. Again, the formula was magical and I only needed one coat plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Moon Moth
This is the reserved, dignified pale olive you have been waiting for. It has a soft, subtle coral shimmer floating on the foggiest green...but of course I couldn't catch it in my pictures. Some of the pictures of the website show it off pretty well. It is there in person, but so hard to catch...which is why there are no macros from me. This polish applies like a cream...and again: one coat plus Seche Vite here. What sorcery is this?
Psilocybin
It is, after all, mushroom season. This is a grayed, earthy espresso brown will holo and pink flakes throughout. The formula was delightful and I might have been able to make this a one-coater too...but my brush was a bit wonky. (which is not that bad, considering all the Vapid I have. Only one slightly wonky brush. I like those odds) Even with the weird brush, I still barely needed two coats followed by a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Spider and the Fly
This is a lush, fresh fall green. It is doused with a healthy dose of holo on top of a faint gold shimmer. It absolutely reminds me of moss growing on a shady log...or certain types of seaweed that cling to the rocks at low tide for us coastal folk. The formula is wonderfully smooth, though just a bit thinner than the rest. I used two thin coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
Weaponized Guilt
This is like the dark, murky sister of Firestarter. It reminds me of an olive-toned Tiger's Eye stone. It is a satiny bronzed green metallic shimmer that applies almost as well as its big sister. I used two thin coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.
I am continually stunned by Vapid. It seems like every collection gets better and better. Eventually, she will reach critical awesome, and then we shall all explode.
