Are you ready for some Literary Lacquers fangirling? Because I'm silently freaking out over this duo. Trust me, they are worth the fuss.
(promotional samples ahead)
Miss Amy has done quite a few collaborations with bloggers. I have definitely drooled over a few of them. They are generally inspired by the bloggers favorite book or characters...as is keeping with the Literary Lacquers theme. When she asked me if I would like to participate, I practically knocked down a bucket of kittens for the opportunity.
When I was thirteen or so, my mom brought me a book home from the store. I have always been a little on the bookish side, and I would generally take a trip to Yesterday's Books over a trip to Toys'R'Us...yeah, I was that kid. And if the book was spooky, all the better. So the book my mother chose, completely by random, was Interview with a Vampire. I could never have known it at the time, but it was the start of a life-long love for vampire fiction, New Orleans history, and Anne Rice.

Louis over China Glaze Liquid Leather
This brooding glitterbomb was inspired by the descriptions of Louis' sparkling green eyes. They are often described as glittering like emeralds...so an emerald green glitter topper was kind-of a gimme. There are squares and hexes, holo mini hexes...all in cool green shades, like a rolling lawn at dusk. There are also some large black hexes, but as I chose to layer it over black (which makes the holo bits pop out more) they only add subtle texture to the finished look. Somehow, these green squares manage to curl ever so slightly to catch the light, but still dry pretty damned smooth. I've mentioned before that I am VERY against textures: they make me pick at my nails. So I feel like if I say something is smooth, it is pretty much acceptable to everyone. I actually wore this glitter on my left hand for a few days-without topper or base because I couldn't wait-and it was totally not offensive. And I did laundry, y'all.
This is one coat of Louis over a plain black cream, followed by Seche Vite.
Lestat
Keeping with the eyespiration, this shade was inspired by Lestat's violet eyes. The Brat Prince has always been described as having changeable violet eyes that captivate people of all ages and sexes...and this polish has definitely caught that. I wanted an icy cool violet, like a frozen chunk of amethyst, and Amy nailed it. Completely. There are tiny silvery flakes swimming around that give the finished looks a highly reflective and almost metallic look. I could wear this all day, guys.
This is two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite.
I got lucky, and the sun came out for a hot minute.
I feel so grateful and honored that I was given the opportunity to coerce Amy into feeding my fangirling help create this stunning duo. If you love it as hard as I do, you can scamper on over to the shop and grab them for yourself. You don't have to buy them both, but fans of the books will know that these two always seem to find each other, no matter how long they are apart.
I'm an eternally devoted Anne Rice fan and my parrot's name is Lestat, so you know which one I got...
