Creme a la Mode Box no.4 • Summer 2016

Creme a la Mode is back, boys and girls! Can you believe this is number four? It feels like it was just yesterday that we began...sigh. And now, here we are! With the best box yet!

Digital Nails Melonade 

I figure we should start with the most difficult of all the shades...to photograph, that is. This is a BRIGHT. NEON. PINKY-ORANGEY-CORAL. Wow. My camera is bad bad bad with neons, so I decided to attempt to grab the base color at least. It is the perfect melony neon pink. The formula is the best DN formula of any of the CALM boxes thus far. I used two totally effortless coats and a layer of Seche Vite for these. 

And because I love you, I tested it over a white base. No visible change. It was just as blinding. If you are looking for that perfect summer neon...look no further.

Literary Lacquers Cyan-Tifically Proven

This is a vividly desaturated teal. It reminds me, dead on, of the robin's egg blue crayon and I love it. This definitely is creamy goodness, and it looks like a poured plastic manicure once you throw topper on. I definitely think that this could be a great daytime shade for lounging by the pool. I used just two normal coats plus Seche Vite for these pictures.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer You, Me, and Daiquiri

Oh OPNL, you always come through with the soft shades. This is like a delicate summer shawl draping around my shoulders at sundown. It is not-quite-peachy pink and wholly SFW. This would be a great shade for any summer bride (or wedding guest). The formula is slightly thicker than the average OPNL cream (it isn't that same jelly-ish quality) but it was still perfect and opaque in two coats plus Seche Vite.

Indigo Bananas Creme Bluelé

Do you need a shade for floating in the ocean all day? This is the perfect, crisp, bright oceanic blue for you. It is a close cousin of the famed Pacific Blue, I would call it a touch more vivid and electric than the old classic. The formula is good stuff, y'all. I am a big fan of the IB brush/handle combo, and this stuff flows easily and I only needed two coats plus Seche Vite for these pictures.

If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen this picture I posted last week. I couldn't decide what I wanted to do...so I did a little bit of everything! I used all the shades in the CALM box, plus a black, white, and Always from CrowsToes.

By the way, if you have Always, you need the OPNL here (and vice versa) because those two shades are SOUL MATES.
