Lush Cosmetics Intergalactic Bath Bomb

I am back with another Lush bath bomb review. I mentioned in my last one that the kid picked out two bombs, and this is the second. This one was decidedly more fun.

Lush Cosmetics Intergalactic Bath Bomb

This is my favorite of all the bombs thus far. It looks like an alien planet, and you know how I feel about spacey things. The bright, quasi-neon shades in this one are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. Offspring no.2 was pretty put-out that she didn't get a "outer space bath bomb"...but don't worry, she did get a little something too. Aesthetically, it gets 10/10.

The scent is very clean. The website says "a hint of 80's aftershave" and I definitely get that. There is something slightly dad-smelling about this bomb. But not in a bad way. Just fresh and clean. Little Miss Sports-star said it reminded her a bit of mouthwash, and with the strong peppermint scent I can definitely see that as well. Scent wise, I give it an 8/10.

This one feels a bt smaller than Sex Bomb, but it says it is the same weight. I didn't take a picture of it in my hand for scale...so maybe I am just mis-remembering? It is a good size to make the bath water turn a vivid, saturated turquoise though.

Here is a screencap of the website. You can see that this one is actually as-advertised. I think the slightly chaotic look of this one works in Lush's favor here. You are always going to get a brilliant aqua ball with swirling equatorial bands of lemon yellow and neon pink. If I had bought this online, I would definitely give a 10/10 on actual product appearance.

80's aftershave though?

Now, for the fun parts! Before Madame Catcher booted me from the room, I snapped a bunch of pictures. This bomb definitely makes with the visual bells and whistles. Immediately, you get swirls of green, pink, and purple all above a sea of aqua. It loves the camera too. I could look at this bomb swirl all day...

trying some color correction. My pinks are a bit warm...but how fun!

As she was huffing and whining, I snapped one picture from a low angle. It really does look galactic. I think I might need to get myself one of these.

The review from her majesty was positive. She said her skin felt soft and that she smelled good. She doesn't know if she would buy it again, as she wants to try all the bath bombs...but maybe once she is done with that she would get this one again. She thinks it would make a nice gift though. Tough critic, my kid.

Surprisingly, this bomb was not awful for cleanup. I anticipated a significant amount of "ring-around-the-tub" but it really only required a quick wipe to remove. Considering all the colors in here, that is pretty amazing.

Kid tested, mom approved.

As always, let me know what we should look for next! Our monthly Lush pilgrimage is coming.

  2. I really love this one as well!! I'm usually more of a fruity scents person, but I surprisingly liked the aftershave-y scent. The LUSH website says that it was inspired by what they think Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy would smell like....Chris Pratt, yum!!
