Lush Cosmetics Honey Bee Bath Bomb

Oh Lush, don't ever stop doing things. After watching my kids luxuriate in tubs swirling with colors and relaxation I finally bought my own bath bomb...maybe I shouldn't be allowed to pick my own treats anymore.

I wanted something soothing and comfortable, more than wild and showy. I chose the Honey Bee, which is a combo of honey, Rhassoul Mud, and aloe. Those things should all be great for giving me soft, happy skin...right?

It was just ok.

What do I mean by ok? It fizzed for a respectable length of time, but there was no fireworks-worthy shots to be had. The brown and yellow combine to make...more yellow. Meh. My skin felt nice, but not overly hydrated, soothed, or smoothed. Bleh. The scent was nice, but it was pretty cloyingly honey scented...and it didn't stick to my skin. I guess that is a blessing in disguise, but if you like the scent of your bath, you'll be sad once you dry off.

The colors here are a real challenge. The brown and yellow do not make for a pretty bath. In fact...it looks like pee. Thankfully the kids weren't home otherwise I'd still be listening to them giggle about it. I think this needs to be a bit richer, so that a normal bathtub will be golden and not...tinkle yellow.

Cleanup was a bit of a bear too. Even compared to the others that my wee humans have used, this one was the worst. There were little V shapes of mud left in the bottom of the tub, and there was a faint ring of yellow grit around the waterline. And y'all, I scrubbed the tub before I used it. Kids had been in there.

The photos that I took were so...bleh. But I did get enough video to make a wee gif!

So overall, this on gets a big 'ol pass from me. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't great. Compared to the other stuff I have tried from Lush, it is downright depressing. Have you tried this bomb yet? Maybe I just got a bum bomb?

  1. I love honey scented bath stuff. I'm curious how this one smells, must check out Lush. But yeah, that colour just isn't attractive for a bath bomb. I'd rather have a plain white one than this.

  2. I haven't tried and I have no idea how I'd like a honey scented bath. I don't mind the yellow, but I can see how littles would think it was amusing. Hell, I think I would laugh with them. :)

  7. I've never tried a Lush bath bomb before, but all your bath time posts make me interested for sure. I'll pass on this one too though! ;-)

  8. I love all your LUSH posts lately! :) I have never tried this particular bath bomb, but it is a bummer when they're not as exciting as you hope!

  9. I haven't even heard of this bath bomb! I have yet to find one from LUSH that I don't like, but I'll probably skip this one in future now haha

  10. I can totally see why this one is just okay -- compared to all their other vibrant ones, this one is kind of meh. If I were to get a bath bomb (which I probably never will....I can't remember the last time I took a bath, lol) I would go for the bright, vibrant ones!
