I have a new-to-me brand, Powder Perfect, to share today. This is one of those brands that you see swatches and just sigh. Stunningly beautiful and wholly unrealistic. Or at least...that is what I thought. I was hilariously wrong. Let me show you this shade, and you will understand.
(promotional samples ahead)
O.M.F.G. you guys. As soon as I unwrapped this shade, I was in love. I have a deep and abiding love affair with vampy shades, so this one was practically made for me. It is a deep plummy wine with a soft simmering holo. Even in the midst of El Niño, it glowed like it had a secret. I definitely feel like I need to be standing on a narrow balcony, staring at the ocean. Well...ok not really. We have a surf advisory here...so I'm not going near the ocean for a while. I'll just wear this color and pretend.
This shade is a reboot of the original Widow's Walk which was originally released as part of the Abandoned Mansion Collection in February 2014. I dug deep into the internet, and from the swatches I saw...you will be pleased with this version. It has that same brooding depth, but if anything the glow has increased. <insert secret internal happy dance>
I barely needed a second coat to reach complete opacity here, and my nails are a bit on the longer side these days. I imagine for shorter nails you could probably sneak by with just a single, medium thickness coat. I topped it off with Seche Vite and it was just luminous. Yeah...you could say I sorta liked this one. Maybe.
Before we part, let's just look at this macro! The warm underglow reminds me of a candle behind a curtain. Isn't it lovely? I have to admit that I am over the moon with this shade. And possibly this brand. I may or may not be amassing a wishlist in another tab while I type this review. That doesn't mean I'm obsessed or anything...
This shade will be available in the US shop on January 27th at 7pm EST. They also have a whole posse of stockists, so you're covered no matter where you live! If you've tried this brand before, let me know in the comments which shade I should get next? I think I might need to make Powder Perfect a drawer in my Helmer...
