Octopus Party Nail Lacquer + Fair Maiden

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer has teamed up with some amazing indie brands to really bring the new year in with a bang. The first one I have the privilege to share is the OPNL + Fair Maiden duo. Fair Maiden was a new-to-me brand, and I must admit the polish impressed me quite a bit.  Let's keep on scrolling to see some swatches.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Angel Dust

Angel Dust is a white cream-jelly with gold flakes, gold glitter, and holo glitter floating delicately throughout. This is your typical OPNL formula, meaning that it applies wonderfully and painlessly...despite being white. If you managed to grab a bottle of Baptism, then you'll know the sweet wonder that is Dave's cream-jelly formula. I used three super thin coats + plus a layer of Seche Vite.

Fair Maiden Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar is a warm cocoa brown holo filled with gold flakes. As this was my first brush with the FM brand, I wasn't sure what to expect. The formula was definitely fit for any Goldilocks. Thick enough to keep the wee flakes separate, but not so thick that it fought the brush...and thin enough to glide onto the nail, but not so thin that it flooded all over. Sigh. What an intro, guys. I used just two coats + SV and I think it was just perfect.

I loved this duo so much that I couldn't just swatch it, so I did a wee bit of quickie art. Nothing like a little zig-zag tape to bring a duo together.

This duo was just wonderful. Warm, cozy, wholly SFW. What a great way to start things off! I can't wait to see what the other duos have in store. If this is any indication...our wallets are going to feel the pain. Hey, at least our fingers will be pretty.
