What better time to try something ridiculous than Halloween? It is almost as if the season was made for it! I was shortening my nails the other day and I decided to be a little silly. I would never have the cajones to do this for real, but I enjoyed the hell out of it for an afternoon.

I am not a huge fan of this nail shape. Nope. I think I am too much of a traditionalist when it comes to nails. I'm considering trying almond shape in November...and its give me a minor heart attack. Squares just feel right to me.
What about you? Do you experiment with nail shapes, or do you stick to what works?
I was iffy at first but the more I look at them, the more I like them. I could never do it though. I fully live the nub life, not really by choice, but it's a fate I bear.
ReplyDeleteI was down to leave them for a few days...and then I tried to scratch my eye. I noped right out.
DeleteI´m not sure, I´d probably go crazy trying to get each angle exactly right, lol! I love what you did with the french tip though.
ReplyDeleteI dont think I could live with a shape like this for more than a few hours >.<
DeleteI'm all over the place with nail shape. I'm mostly rounds but occasionally I get a whim and go square or ballerina.
ReplyDeleteI noticed! You are my nail-shape-bravery-hero. I always chicken out.
DeleteOh gosh, I thought it was an eye trick that I saw a diagonal shape! But it's not! Well I find it cool for Halloween, but I wouldn't wear it the rest of time!
ReplyDeleteits way too weird for normal wear. I have always been square...I dunno what I would do with anything else!
DeleteIt took me a long time to finally move to the shape I have now and I love it! I kind of like the slant in a weird kind of way!
ReplyDeleteOkay, seriously, I can't believe my derp from instagram from earlier today. Sigh. But I do like how the nails turned out!
ReplyDeleteI'm a square girl too! But I do think these would be fun for a party or something. The mani works great with them too.
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, it took me a good minute or two to notice the shape. The angle looks subtle in the photos, but I know that I would drive myself crazy with these haha. I just went back to square nails and struggle enough with filing them straight haha!
ReplyDeleteso fun! I like you panic every time i change the shape of my nail and in the end i always go back to squares lol
ReplyDeleteI'm too chicken to experiment with nail shapes! I just bought FAKE nails to try out stiletto nails haha. I do like this though - it's different
ReplyDeleteThis is fun! Not for me though...haha. I too am a square girl, unless I have a break
ReplyDeleteI don't understand this nail shape at all. However, I think you'd look lovely with almond nails! Go for it!
ReplyDeleteI always wish I could change my nail shape, but it freaks me out too much lol. So don't worry I'm right there with you in the squares club for life.
ReplyDeleteOh, Nichole, this is very groovy. Appeals to the surrealist in me. As for my own nail shape, because of your former cohort Amanda, I was inspired to sharpen my nails and I've been sporting almond pointies for over a month now, and I am hooked! It took me a while to get used to it but now I love it. I'll probably go back to my squoval sometime soon, but I do love the pointy nails.
ReplyDeleteI understand your hesitance with this nail shape, but I think it's kinda groovy the way you're rocking these! I wouldn't keep them like this forever, but I think it's nice you're showing some designs with this shape!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a chicken when it comes to trying new nail shapes! hah - But this looks fab on you!
