If there is one thing I love, its Halloween. If there is another...well, its probably coffee next. But I'm sure somewhere on my list of fuckyeahawesome is books. I love a good story, and you know that the Potterverse is always good for a tale or two...and apparently some killer inspiration! Firecracker Lacquer has an amazing collection of holos floating around out there that you need to see.
(the sun is a giant doucheface, and refused to comply for this post.)
A Stone to Resurrect
This sucker is a perfectly spruce green holo. The formula is amazing, and I only needed one coat + a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures. Yup...I said one coat.
This one an almost teal-navy holo. Another amazing one coater here, ya'll. Because this is a blue, I was worried about staining...but I survived unscathed.
Better than a Snitch
Now, this shade is actually the custom for the Firecracker Lacquer Backers...but it fits so nicely with this collection that I had to include it here. And this color. Holy cow. There is silver flakes, holo, and multichrome flakies in here. Because why the hell not? I used three ultra thin coats here + SV, and I was a sparkling fool. And FYI: Bedlam Beauty nor FcL is responsible for damages resulting from holo blindness. You have been warned.
The Cloak's Secret
This shade is an inky blue-violet holo. I had a little bit of streaking, and needed a second coat just to even everything out. It dries to a ever so slightly matte finish, and I threw on a quick coat of SV for these pictures. I think, if I weren't fighting the humidity these days, I probably could have gotten away with a single coat. I'll have to check once the weather breaks.
The Unbeatable Wand
I need to do a vampy holo roundup, like the deep vamp cream roundup I did last year. This is definitely turning into a glamorous year for wine colored holos. This sucker fits right in. Two easy coats and I was ready to rock.
I can't get over these holos. They are just crazypants holo...I promise. The sun just refused to cooperate. But at least we are getting a break from the heat. Finally.
What do you think? Are you ready to drench yourself in wizardly sparkles this Fall? I definitely am. Let me know in the comments which shade you think Hermione would have worn!
Update: Once I finished my swatches, and started to file my polishes safely away in my helmer...the sun came out. DAFUK MR. SUN? So I ran out with my sticks and tried to get some good shots...I know, I know. This is no substitute for an on-the-nail rainbow shot, but its the best I can do. Mother Nature has her own plans.
