This color challenge is really...a challenge. I know, I know...I am a wordsmith. But I think its actually going to be good for me! This time of year, with Halloween looming, school starting, and summer crushing me under the weight of a thousand house-fans, I tend to become a wee bit scattered. At least now I have a road map.

I decided to try and do a simple seriotype...but with a twist. It is very nebular, and that is just fine with me. I taped off little squares with blue painters tape (hey, it was handy) and then went to town. That tape isn't great, but it works in a pinch. I could have sharpened my edges with a brush, but I decided that I was far too lazy for that I didn't want to ruin my base color.
When I saw there was an orchid prompt for the 30 Days of Color Challenge, I knew I had to do something interesting. It is one of my favorite colors, and gods know I have a ton of colors to choose from...and then I got this shade from 77NL in the mail. I plopped it on my desk next to the other random colors I had corralled and it was like the stars aligned. I am actually pretty pleased with how it ended up, all-in-all. What do you think?
I am so in the mood for this kind of colours right now! Gotta search my stash for tomorrow's mani ;)
ReplyDeleteOOOH! So glad you decided to try out a geometric seriotype. It looks gorgeous. I might try it out soon with a neutral base color and brightly colored seriotype squares. (Btw, love the color orchid on you!)
