Pretty & Polished Cosmopolitan Hearts

So a while back, I was lucky enough to swatch the Happy Hour Collection from Pretty & Polished. I admit that I felt like a real blogger for a hot second...especially since P&P was my very first indie polish. Yay! So where was I? Oh yeah...Happy Hour! I fell the hell in love with Cosmopolitan from that collection, so I just had to figure out a way to wear it for longer...but without covering the glitter pinkness and without actually doing any real work. Enter my trusty nail art pens!

I love these stupid pens. I do. I have read some really bad reviews on them, but I love them. I only have the two, but they work for me...especially for these super simple bits of art. They deserve a review of their own...one of these days.

Do you have a set of go-to tools for quickie nail art? For me, I think if I had these two pens I can pretty much whip something interesting up in a hurry. Add to that the rustic look...which is very forgiving for those of us who aren't so steady drawing with their non-dominant hand!

  1. I'm pretty remedial when it comes to my nail art tools - toothpicks, sewing needles, bobby pins, sponges, and saran wrap. These pens would probably be a step up ;)

    1. they are fun! But my experience seems to be the statistical outlier. Most people hate them.

  2. I have a few of those pens. They work fine for me, but the black stains my cuticles like a bitch, so I just make sure to use it sparingly and remove carefully. They're not paint pens but they definitely work for a quick art fix.

  3. Really cute design! I've not tried the pens yet, especially since the reviews have ben less than positive, but maybe I should still pick up a couple to play with. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I am leery of trying the colored ones. I had a old-version pink and it was absolute shit.

  4. Gorgeous mani!! I've never used the pens before. My freehand is pretty rubbish so I just stick to stamping haha!

  5. I haven't tried the Sally Hansen pens, but I have some others I got from a fair and I'd totally forgotten about them so thanks for reminding me! Maybe I'll try to recreate this look first. It's really cute!

  7. I think I am one of those people who have never given nail art pens a fair chance. I just read the bad reviews on them and stay away. This mani came out so good though so I think you totally made me want to try them out.

    1. aw thanks! You could probably get nearly the same outcome with a dotting tool though.

    1. The black one I have is one of the original ones, and the white is the new version...I am not crazy about the white one. It tends to crack and bleed. :( But If you accept the chaos it isn't bad.
