*spoiler alert!*

I like the new one best.

If you originally loved the milky-pale, slightly gray taupe, then you are in luck. The original color is still there...it is just perfected now. The new color is a little less white and a lot more holo. I did love the original, but I think this slightly deepened shade is far more universal.

Formula-wise, the new one is a vast improvement as well. Somehow, Emily managed to make this shade more even and opaque...but all without losing that signature squish that I always look for when choosing a CNC shade. It has that immense depth, but 100% less bother to apply. The original often needed an extra coat just to smooth errant streaks and drags...but this new version needs none of that. Someone with non-yellow nails could probably slap a single coat of the new Taupey Tips and get that "natural and perfect" look.

And in the sun, that holo rainbow that makes us all drool is strong and linear now, instead of a scattered dusting of majesty. Anything that makes a SFW color more fun  is good with me.

So now for comparisons! Here is the original swatch of the original Taupey Tips formula (you can read the review here if you like). It is still a delicately beautiful pale shade...like a layer of milky glass on my nails.

And here is the new version. You can see that the new version is the tiniest bit warmer/less white.

In the bottle, the differences are the most obvious that you will see...especially when you see the colors against a white background. The new one has a stronger holo, a warmer tone, and a more opaque formula. The original is more sheer, more shimmery, and more neutral.

Once you put them on, the differences become a little more subtle...especially seen side-by-side. Can you spot them?

Another comparison done! And once again, things are a-changin' for the better. I love it when that happens! Now, run along and grab a bottle while there is still time! They aren't going anywhere...you just need this color!

  3. Ugh. I'm torn. I really love a nude, especially when it's opaque like that, but there's just something about the…….delicateness, I think, of the old one. Do you have KBShimmer In Bare Form? I'm curious how the new one would compare to that?
