Pretty & Polished Happy Hour Collection

It is always five o'clock somewhere right? But never quite where you are at that very moment...sadly. Thank goodness for Pretty & Polished. They have released a Happy Hour collection that looks good enough to drink. It is finally five o'clock where ever I want it to be.

Appletini
This nearly neon, sour apple green will definitely carry you through any sort of soiree you are attending. It has a strong scattered holo and a creamy two-coat formula. This might have been my favorite of the collection...even though it is so bright that my camera started asking for a drink. I can't help myself around neons.

Cosmopolitan
Cosmopolitan is a crush of pink glitters in a cool pink base. Without topper, it is a less-obnoxious textured polish with a demi-matte finish. But once you throw on some Gelous + SV, it becomes this luminous puddle of awesome. I only needed two super thin coats for opacity, but under not-picture-taking circumstances I think I would only need one.

Long Island Iced Tea
What's that, a SFW shade? But of course. Long Island Iced Tea, like its namesake, is deceptively appropriate. A cool cognac colored base filled with every glitter I've ever seen, this polish is opaque in just two coats. It does dry with a slight texture, but a quick layer of SV will give it that glassy look that I love.

Purple Nurpl
This polish...it is everything I wanted Zoya Carter to be, and then some. It is a violet jelly base chock-full of every shade of purple glitter you can imagine...and then three others no one has ever considered. I needed two thin coats for the pictures below, plus a layer of SV. This polish, like a few others, does dry to a lightly textured/demi-matte finish...but the final result is like a sophisticated Pixie Dust...definitely one for a swanky cocktail party.

Sangria
Oh, Sangria...how do I love thee? I am a sucker for reds. I am. This perfect lipstick red jelly is so densely filled with glitters that I don't even know where to start describing them. You can probably get away with just one coat of this shade if you tried, though I used two for the pictures below plus a Gelous/SV sammich. I feel like this would have been Jessica Rabbit's signature shade, for sure.

Tequila Sunrise
Ever felt like pouring molten peaches onto your nails but hate those nasty second-and-third degree burns that always come after? Then this shade is the one for you. It is a magical orange jelly filled with a galaxy of holo glitter. I needed three coats + a thin layer of SV for the pictures below and I couldn't be happier...and I would have been happy to stop here, but wait. There's more...

This shade is a thermal! In cold water, it shifts from a molten peach to a lava-worthy blood orange shade. This is the shift with top coat...I can't even begin to fathom how strong it would be without. This is the most dead-on polish-to-drink shade in this collection. I mean, come on...It has both colors!

I am not personally a big drinker, but for these shades I might have to reconsider.

These are officially available on July 10, 2015 at the P&P Shop. In addition to these amazing beverages shades, there are also an entire bars worth of scented bath and mani bombs (you can read about them here)...so you can smell like your drink while you dress like your drink when you are drinking your drink. Whoa. I think I just "yo dawg"-d myself into oblivion.

    1. Thank ya! Cosmo was Gelous + Seche Vite. It really is the best combo for smoothing out glitters.
