The term "vintage" is a bit hard for me to swallow here. I remember buying these polishes as a teenager at Long's Drug. Mind you, that was nearly twenty years ago now...and most of the music I listened to back then is now on classic rock stations...dammit.
But nostalgia is a helluva drug. A lovely friend of mine offered to sell me a small horde for dirt cheap, and of course I couldn't pass it up. And I'd be a liar if I didn't tell you that I have been trolling eBay for others.
This bottle doesn't have the number sticker on the top, and since it isn't a Fantasy Maker, it doesn't have the name on the front label. But I remember buying this color. It was my "respectable" holiday color. This was the color that every little girl wore and felt like a lady while wearing it. It is chock-full of feels for me.
I am not sure how old this bottle is, but the formula was definitely a tricky one. It had semi-congealed inside the bottle and had formed a quasi-sentient mass around the brush. Ten generous drops of thinner and some vigorous shaking later, and it was back to the original consistency. I only needed two coats for complete coverage, though I think next time I'd like to sponge on the last layer because brush strokes are a serious issue.
What is the verdict? Do you get all feely about polish from the past? I definitely feel nostalgia and regret when I look at this polish, because I am kicking myself for tossing out my perfectly good-but-old polish back before the internet polish community became a thing. So to commemorate my new-found addiction, I will be sharing an old polish on the last Friday of every month until I run out of money and space. I am sure that one of those will happen eventually.
