A Very Special Octopus Party

There is something magical about making a custom polish. I had never actually done it, and I was quite anxious trying to figure out exactly how to explain what I wanted...but a superawesomefabulous friend of mine is getting married in June, and I knew I wanted to get her something special.

You may have noticed the lack of "promotional samples ahead" on this post. That is because I actually commissioned this shade! I wanted a summery coral, but not super bright...but not pastel. But still bright. Because why the hell would I make life easy for Dave? I sent him a whole Pinterest board full of corally things...all different shades. I am not an easy girl to work with. But somehow, Dave managed to take my tornado of coral and turn it into a goddamned perfect bottle of polish. It was so perfect, that I had to let him release it. Its just...wow. WOW.

As to the formula, its just fab. Exactly what you expect from OPNL at this point. It levels itself nicely, and I only needed two coats for these pictures. It has a lovely jelly-like luminosity, which lends itself to the to the glow of the holo. Ugh. You guysss. I don't think I can be objective about this polish because I am just too in love with how it turned out. Tl;dr it is an amazing polish, but I think all of Dave's stuff is just the bee's knees. I am a happy customer.

So this is the invite for the wedding! I sent this to Dave as well. I think the color (which I got to name too!) is right in line with the whole theme of the wedding. I sent a picture to the bride-to-be, and she just loves it. Which is all that matters, really. I can't wait to see it on her! She is warmer-toned than I am, and this color is going to be fab on her.

I wish I was there

I recommend you scamper on over to The Shop and grab all of the bottles. I know that this one is already going to be a special one in my collection. And a HUGE congrats to Sarah and Seamus. I hope they have several years of bliss, followed by a lifetime of torture by adorable children. Because that is what they deserve.

    1. it was. I was mostly stoked because the bride-in-question loved it. She wore it on her wedding day, and it made it a little less sad that I wasn't there.
