China Glaze + Grace-Full Nail Polish | Abstract Brushstrokes

How about some soft nail art? I know, I know...it's Halloween season. But as I am a contrarian, I have a deep need for some light springy vibes right now. I'm sure I'll fall back to Halloweeny things some time in December.

I like easy nail art. I like abstract nail art even more. I will combine these two at every opportunity. Today's bit of art fulfills both these silly requirements. I actually used an orangewood stick to create the dashes here, and I love the irregular finished look. And drybrushing is another easy/lazy/quickie art technique. You can't do it wrong, which makes it the most perfect method ever. Trust me, I'm an expert in it!

Are you a fan of out-of-season colors? The more black and orange I see, the more I feel a need for pastels and soft nudes. I'll have to do some halloweeny stuff in these colors, just to be slightly appropriate.

  1. I feel you. Standing out from monotony is good so yes to pastels as well

  2. What a great way to get "dry brush" with an orange stick! I've been lazy and wearing the same color for days (a purple, shocker) but I also love non-traditional polishes out of season. It goes with our crappy weather here lol.

  5. Boho Blues is one of my favorite polishes EVAH. This came out great.

  6. I like this but I'm basic and normally stick to deep, vampy shades in the fall. However, as I'm typing this I'm wearing a charcoal holographic, which might be cheating, haha!

  7. I'm definitely with you on the off-season colors, especially around holidays. I just don't like the idea of polish that's only suitable to wear a few days out of the year.

  8. This is really pretty! Very low key but interesting.

  9. I really love the dry brushing on the middle pink nail!

  10. I do tend to reach for more "un-trendy" colors for fall, like the smoky nudes and mauves :-D
