Baroness X NeoElectro Collection

promotional samples ahead

Summer is fading (in some places. Around these parts it is finally getting started!) but my love for neons is not. I keep searching for unique neons...I need shades that go commando and have that special something. Once again Baroness X comes to the rescue, this time with a stunning trio of sizzling new neons.

This set is really quite amazing. There are three shades, (finally) an unscented mani bomb option, and a small set of lightning-clad hair elastics. I was excited to get my hands on this kit.

Fluorofizz
This reminds me of a ladybug! In the early 90s, I had a swimsuit that would have matched this polish perfectly. It is a warm corally pink jelly-cream formula sprinkled liberally with multiple sizes of round black glitters dusted with a delicate scattered holo. The application was fantastic. I needed just two coats and a layer of SV for the pics below. And (for me) best of all: it is a true neon. Even though it looks quite unassuming in regular light, under a UV light it glows like fire. What a great shade for late-summer parties!

Electric Bubbles
This is becoming a signature blend for the Baroness. This is a lively mix of black, pink, aqua, silver, holo, lime and holo itty bitt glitters in a clear base. This stuff is amazing. This might be my favorite of all the "bubbles" line. I couldn't decide what color I wanted it to go over, so I decided to do a gradient with Laguna Lime from the Southland Sunsets collection and Devious Nature from Cult Nails. Then I layed a thin layer of Electric Bubbles over the top of that. It is wonderfully chaotic...and also UV reactive.

Electric Sparks
The magical neon yellow jelly is stuffed with silver flakes. The formula is fantastic and I used three thin coats plus a thin layer of SV for the deep squishy look in the pictures below. I did try it with some white undies (well almost. I used OPNL Laguna Bleach) on my middle finger. I slapped one coat of Electric Sparks over the undies...and it just pops. Wow guys. Wow.

And of course I tested it under the UV light. Please ignore the messy spots. This polish was so easy to apply that I didn't feel like I needed any clean-up. I was totally wrong. Damn you, UV light!

The mani bombs were very quickly applied to my hands. It has been unreasonably warm here, with alternating super dry (for us) and super humid days. At this point...I might sell a kidney for a good monsoon. Come on, el Niño! I didn't notice much of a smell...maybe a little hint of baking soda. That is really great for me, because I am a bit of a curmudgeon when it comes to scents in things. I love them...but I also loathe them. I'm weird, I admit it. My dysfunctional relationship with scented items aside, my skin felt so quenched afterwards. There was no hint of sticky, or weirdness, and my nails were glossy and happy for hours. I will definitely be placing an order for these suckers. And just check out this fizz!

This whole collection is just fun. I really appreciate when a brand goes above-and-beyond the norm. I am loving all the non-cream neons that have been coming out this summer. Now I just need someone to make me a properly fitted hypercolor top...
