Catching up is a theme with me for 2017. Hopefully I will find a groove for 2018, but I doubt it! In the meantime, let us enjoy some sparkly things from OPNL

Something Borrowed, Something Blue | two coats
This is a soft country blue jelly holo wih silvery flakes that flash a bit pink at angles. It applies just like your typical OPNL jelly does, and if you like that formula then you will love this one. The color feels really 80s to me, but I kinda don't hate that. I want to paint little white polka dots and duckies on my nails now!
Logan | two coats
This is a black holo with ice flakes. I really like this shade, and OPNL does black holos pretty well. My only complaint is that the flakes are not dispersed enough in the creamy formula. I want moooore. It reminds me of icebergs on a midnight sea. Plus rainbows.
Legal Tender | two coats
This is a lovely spruce green jelly filled with foiled flakes. It has a nice glow, and it applied really easily. In pictures you can definitely see the nail line, but in real life it wasn't obvious at all.
Grimes | two coats
This is a mulberry holo with a sprinkle of flaky goodness. I see green flash in the flakes here and there, but in pictures all you really get is that pinky shade. Still fun, and great for a sophisticated Fall/Winter manicure.
Drowned Deep in Shadow | two coats
This is a cinnabar red with a blueish-teal frost. It reminds me so hard of 1970s courdoroy pants...or jacket...or couch. The formula is actually really nice to apply (unlike courdoroy pants) and it reminds me of a warm red lipstick I have...somewhere. Sadly, it does not suit my cool/fair skintone. I look super green next to this warm, cozy shade.
Big Sis, Lil Sis | three coats
This pale blue jelly has beautiful iridescent flakes that remind me of abalone. Sadly, this formula did not work for me at all. I don't know if its the weird-ass weather, or my personal body chemistry (I've been struggling with a lot of formula in the last few months, since switching up my medication. It's a whole ordeal that has been stressing me out since spring.) The flakes sank for me, even on my nails, and the formula just wouldn't level at all. Which is sad, because this looks great in other swatches. I bet it would be a lovely bridal color.
There ya have it! I really hoped to end 2017 with zero left on my to-do list...but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Health problems for me and my poor cat (insert worried mother face here) have joined forces with my natural procrastinating tendencies to make me laaaaag this year. But I swear, this time, I really will get caught up. 2018 is the year for me!
