Hobby Polish Bloggers Presents: Goldfish

Well hello, it is I: Captain Latetotheparty! I was so excited for the HPB linkup this month as it was my actual suggestion that finally won. I knew exactly what I wanted to do...and then life had to go and be a giant douchenozzle. Oh well, I still had it all done, and dammit I am going to share!

Hobby Polish Bloggers Presents: Goldfish

Y'all. I broke out two different plates for this manicure. I loved the bubbles, and they went to well with my unfortunately subtle fish head fish stamping. I wanted to do something kinda restrained, and negative space is an interesting concept. I kinda feel like the gold + fish, even though it is a koi, is the manicure equivalent to me grinning and saying "its a GOLD fish. GOLDfish. Its gold, and its a fish. Get it?"
Can confirm, however, that I still don't love french manicures.

It is hard to see the fishy face, isn't it? The combo of the large image, my shorter nails, and the gold against my skin kinda worked against me here...but I still like it. In order to help you all out, I've used my super impressive and totally not lame photoshop skillz to outline Mr. Fishface.

OH! The best stinking part of the whole day...which I hope makes up for my infinite tardiness...the Blue-Eyed Girl polish is UV REACTIVE. Guys. Best day ever or best day ever?

Hopefully, I'll figure out a way to swing the next HPB linkup. I really love doing art prompts, and I hate that I never make time for them these days. More art was one of my goals for the year...so yeah, time to get on that shit.
