Vapid Lacquer + Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Stamping

One of my goals for 2016 was to do more art. I have been especially intrigued with stamping, because I am generally pretty awful at it. When I got the Vapid Summer Shimmers a while back, I knew I needed to pair them with a neon. It worked out wonderfully that I am lazy and hadn't put anything away spotted an OPNL on my desk that was just what I was looking for.

and you know me...no neon is complete without a visit to the black light.

I am really stoked with how this turned out. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the OPNL stamped, even for a novice like me. I was using a clear jelly stamper from MoYou, and it behaves like a completely different beast from my marshmallow stamper. But I dig being able to see what I'm doing. Practice is definitely in order, but I am fairly happy.
Do you have much experience with the clear jelly stampers? I would love to read some tips!

  3. The black light shot looks super cool!
Only advice I have for the clear stamper is, if you haven't already, wash it in some dish soap. In fact, that seems to help all stampers for me.

    1. It's the first thing I do when I get a new stamper. Like, put some dish soap directly on the stamper and clean it, rinse it off well, I usually do it twice to be sure. It was a 'miracle cure' for me.

  4. Look at you....nail art'ing! WOO HOO! :) I love that black light shot. My clear jelly stamper didn't need any priming...sorry, i can't be of any help.

  5. Oh I love how it glows in the dark! Also, have to agree with washing the clear stamping with dish soap. It's the only thing that helped me pick up images but the clear is definitely harder to use

  6. Loving it in the black light. I cheated and primed mine once with nail polish remover (not 100% acetone but contains acetone). I tried it on the edge first to make sure it didn't cloud and it worked much better.
Clear jelly stampers seem to be fussier about rolling to pick up and the type of polish used though

  12. I have Catamaran and all the BPL plates coming....Eeek. As for clear stampers, I find mine work better if I roll instead of pressing straight down. #neonmaniareeverything
