Art on Friends: Jenny Loves Disney

My friends have all known, for years, that I am the resident lacquerhead around here. Anytime anyone needs anything makeup or nail related, I am usually one of the first people they turn to...which is fine with me. I will blather on about beauty things to anyone who will let me. So when my darling Jenny asked me to paint her nails for her recent trip to Disneyland...well, I knew I had to do something cute.

She showed me a few pictures, but honestly it has been a long time since I've painted anyone who I can't beat and/or send to their room elses nails, and even longer since I had done it regularly. So I decided to coerce her into something simple and quick. Her youngest loves Minnie, so we used that as an inspiration.

Also, did you know that taking pictures of someone elses hands is weird as shit? Double that for macros...holy cow.

I am curious to see how these lasted for a week of three little kids + Disneyland.

I used to think "Oh, someday I might like to finish cosmetology school one day...that might be fun." Yeah...I think I need to think on that more. I don't mind painting nails other than mine...but I don't want to let them choose their own designs. That just seems wrong.

  1. These are so cute!
I agree - I've never particularly wanted to do other people's nails as a job, but any time I might consider it even a little bit, I realise they'll all probably want things that I consider hideous. No, thank you!

  7. LOL, yes, taking pics of other people's hands is awful. Especially when there's no light. I usually do my friend's nails in the evening, you see. That's why my pics of their hands are always kinda crappy. Also, other people's cuticles... (^#%(@*$&)@(*$@!!!! But still, I love love love painting other people's nails. And they usually let me pick a design, so that's good ;) And I'd love to be a cosmetologist for 1 day a week. You know, to keep it fun ;)
Anyways, back to the point, I think you did awesome here, and you nailed the pics, you're way better at it than I am! The design is super cute and perfect for Disneyland, I'm sure she got a lot of compliments!
