Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Prototypes

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer is known, by now, for glorious holos. But who knew that we only see a tiny portion of the magic that Dave creates? He (sorta) recently purged a bunch of prototypes, and I snatched up two of them

Viceroy Conch
I have dubbed this shade "Viceroy Conch" because it is a variant of the custom I commissioned, but it is slightly more pink than the official...so I gave it an official-but-not-as-grand name. Because I can. I used two coats plus Seche Vite here...but I think next time I want a third. I can still see a whisper of nail line. I will say, however, that this shade is a lovely neutral at one coat. It'll give you a blush of color and a hint of sparkle.

Naiades
This is the turquoise shade that made everyone cry. Apparently, this is a "frankenstein". It was a little of this, a bit of that...and then immediately forgotten. I LOVE IT. I gave it the name Naiades because this totally reminds me of water nymphs. I used two thin coats plus Seche Vite here, and I feel like I could be a water nymph.

This post is going to confuse a lot of folks. These were random prototypes, and they all sold very quickly. There were actually a quartet: coral, turquoise, green, and yellow. Through a shipping snafu, I already had the green...and yellow is a hard color for me to wear.

Did you grab any of the OPNL prototypes? Which one would you love to see in production? Let me know below!

  2. Both are SO beautiful. Naiades might be THE most gorgeous polish I've ever seen. Yeah, I love it that much. (And I love the name. I'm a sucker for Greek mythology!)

    1. yesssssss. I am on a mission to fill the world with customs named for mythological characters. I had an eyeshadow duo named Scylla & Charybdis, this year is was a polish called Eurayle...which makes me want a whole Gorgon collection.
