LadyQueen Beauty Stamping Plate Test Drive

I was sorta-recently approached by a new-to-me online store called LadyQueen Beauty. Since I hadn't really seen much about them I figured I would turn myself into a guinea pig. The things I do for you guys...happily, it all worked out in my favor! I got a tiny trio of random items, and the first I'm going to share is the HeHe 003 stamping plate!

(promotional samples ahead)

I am...whatever comes before "Novice" on the stamping skill scale. I can generally make things happen, but more than half the time I just close my eyes and pray for the best. It isn't the most efficient way to master a skill. But when Lady Queen offered me the chance to test out some of their products, I chose a stamping plate because I figured that if I can make it work, then anyone probably could.

LadyQueen Beauty Stamping Plate HeHe 003

It is a pretty standard-sized round plate at right around two inches across. I have a bunch of budget plates from Amazon and this is the same size. It should fit right into the little books that real stampers use to organize their stuff. I peeled off the paper and decided to give it a quick test with my squishy stamper and my trusty Pretty Serious Cosmetics Type 40 polish.

Hey! That looks ok, actually. It picked up decently (considering who was driving the stamper) and the image is decently crisp. Maybe I should try this on my actual nails?

Oh wait, I already did! I decided to kill two birds with one stone and test out the opacity of the new Vapid creams and this plate. Everything went better than expected! Almost no one cried. I think these plates are totally acceptable, and that any problems that are evident were my fault. I think it might be time to invest in some actual stamping polish.

The tl;dr is that this plate is totally ok. Probably. I am not a stamping ninja, but I did ok with it...imagine what a pro could pull off! I will definitely be picking up a few more nail art items from this shop. I need a few things.

My question for all you expert stampers: is getting real stamping polish really worth getting? With my modest success here, I am definitely looking to improve my tools.

If you want to check out Lady Queen, maybe consider using my code?

This works just like that other, ubiquitous overseas nail art purveyor. They send me things, I post about them, they give me a code for you guys to use. Except this one is 15% and not 10%. In the interests of full disclosure, I am not getting paid when you use the code. As far as I know, if enough people use this code they will sponsor a giveaway for us. Which is neat. But I wanted to make sure that you guys knew the whole thing. Honesty is the best policy.

  1. Stamping polish is 100% worth getting - it stands out so much against the base color due to it's opacity. Of course, the formula is also a little different than regular polish and I find that it picks up smaller details better from the plate. Sincerely recommend M Polish: https://m-polish.myshopify.com/

She's currently away on maternity leave, but when she comes back - TONS of awesome colors & cheap minis are available! Formula is awesome, customer service is awesome. Threw away or sold every other stamping polish I had once I found M Polish!

  3. Stamping polish is great to have for light colors, definitely, since it is more opaque.

  14. I haven't tried any hehe plates. And YES - stamping polish is totally worth it. I feel like I'd rather have a "known stamping polish" vs spending time trying to see if others stamp.

  15. I use true stamping polish only in light colours honestly. All the rest I do with whatever I have that is a one coater. Or with metallics, those always work. Love the cubes in this plate btw!

  17. Your manicure is super cute. I wouldn't consider myself a stamping expert, but I dabble...and I've gotten by without stamping polish for a long time. I recently picked up some black and white stamping polishes from Bundle Monster and I need to work with them more. Like anything...there's a learning curve!!
