CrowsToes Nail Color My Homicidal Valentine Trio

One of my most long-admired brands is Crowstoes. I have collected a few via destashes, purchased a few more, and even won one in a contest. So you can imagine my excitement when I was given the opportunity to actually swatch a collection. Of course, it is now officially my favorite of all the favorited favorites now. Especially because it pretty much fits my feelings on Valentine's Day.

Darkhearted
Darkhearted is a blackened navy holo with tiny violet flakes. I swear I also see a silvered sparkle here and there, and a sneaky coppery underbelly at certain angles.  I love colors like this as a vampy alternative to black. The formula was perfectly smooth, and I bet that shorter nails could get away with a single coat. I used two coats plus a layer of Seche Vite for these pictures.

DRT
Oh hello there, color that refuses to look the same in any photograph I take. This is a warm, shifty  metallic duochrome that shifts from a sparkling violet to a ruddy maroon. There are multiple sizes of copper flakes floating about like leaves on the wind. This one is a bit sheerer for me, and I used three thin coats plus a layer of SV for these pictures.

Soulless
In my notes, I wrote "omfg cobalt glitterbomb" when trying to describe this polish. That is about the size of it. This glittersplosion contains cobalt, blue holo, and a mix of medium blue tiny glitters all in a cerulean blue base. I was worried this would be supercrazy-unwieldy, but it was actually pretty nice. I used three coats plus SV for these photos.

seriotype
As is becoming my custom, I threw on all three of these colors in a blindingly sparkly seriotype. I think my favorite seriotypes involve polishes that have unusual elements, in this case those copper flakes. I am actually pretty pleased with how it came out.

So...are you loving this darker take on Valentine's day or is it just me? These colors definitely appeal to me throughout the year, and I know that I will be reaching for these post-Vday.
