Cheers To You! New Years Eve Collaboration Box

The Cheers To You! New Years Even Collaboration Box is coming! Just in time for the most party-filled night of the year. This box is chock-full of everything you need to break out a fabulous manicure to ring in the New Year.

(promotional samples ahead)
6 Harts Polish Healing Calendula Cuticle Oil
This is a first-time product for me. It is a gently scented moisturizing cuticle oil in a thin, portable container with a doe-foot applicator. It smells like honey...but not. If you have ever used pure beeswax, then you will know this smell. Its fresh, warm, and clean. I'm a fan. It absorbs fairly quick and is comfortable and moisturizing. This is definitely going to live close at hand for a while.

Alter Ego Body Care Products Confetti Creator
This feels a bit like a glycerin soap, and I love that. It has a sweet, fizzy scent that manages to be strong without obnoxious and cloying. If you have followed me for any length of time (or know me in real life) you know I am weird about perfumed soaps. I actually like this one. And aside from the pleasing scent, the colors are amazing and fun. I actually made a phone wallpaper out of one of my macros I liked it so well. I used this for a week, and then it "disappeared" shortly after my eight-year-old discovered it. Quite suspicious.

Baroness X Pink Champagne
Now, the polish begins. This offering from Baroness X is a silvery taupe-champagne holo filled with pink flakies and holo glitters. I personally see a pink flash that is pronounced enough to almost call this a duochrome. I used three thin coats below, but I think for normal wear I would use just two. I didn't notice a huge difference between two and three coats.

Berry Bubbly Matte Cuticle Balm
In addition to the glamorous polish, Miss Demi threw in a small pot of some specially scented balm. I reviewed this stuff previously, and I absolutely stand by that review. If anything, the later batches of this stuff have only gotten better.

Ellagee Pink Champagne
This is my first Ellagee, and I think it definitely lives up to the hype. This rosy glitter bomb is drowning in circles and hexes squares. I brushed on three easy coats over my bare nail, and I was happy. It isn't totally opaque, but its so damned shiny I don't think I care. There was no fussing or dabbing for this glitter, and I am looking forward to wearing this in a gradient over the holidays.

Northern Star New Year New Joys
This is a delicate, pale dusty aqua scattered holo. It is one of those shades that is so hard to pin down. It is my very first from Northern Star, and I was quite pleased with the formula. I used two coats + Seche Vite for the pictures below and it behaved wonderfully. I am really curious to try more from this brand. The only thing that was unusual was a faint sulfury smell when I first cracked the polish open...but it faded in seconds and didn't transfer to my nails at all.

Philly Loves Lacquer Gold Lang Syne
Another shiny new brand to me! I do love this box, if for no other reason than the adventure of trying new brands. This shade is a medium gold glittering concoction of holo glitter, gold glitter, gold flakies, and gods know what else. Possibly fairy eyelashes...it is shiny. I only used two coats for the pictures below, and it was bright enough to be a stand-alone shade. I also did a quick couple of layers over black with an easy glitter gradient. I don't think I care for it over black, it is far too dense for that sort of layering...but it makes a glorious gradient.

SweetHeart Polish First Night (over Northern Star New Year New Joys)
This is a proper topper. It is packed with holo squares, holo hexes, black holo stars in multiple sizes...all floating in a bath of silver micro glitter. This polish comes along with a wee cosmetic wedge...like its begging to be blotted on. So of course I didn't blot all the fingers. I make my own rules. I swiped two coats on my index and pinky with the brush, and then blotted on the middle two fingers...yeah its more dense. Obviously. But you don't have to. I am itching to try this over a pink, guys. I think it'll make the teal-leaning black holo stars snap.

YouPolish Vinyl Decals
These are actually the first vinyl decals I have ever used...so I am not sure that my opinion can count for too much here. I had two small sheets filled with tiny, durable little stickers. Because this is a NYE themed box, I decided to use the champagne glasses and create something a little celebratory. Using my sharpest dotting tool, these were super easy to peel off and apply. I tried using the stars to make a little relief-ish stuff on my index, but I don't think there was enough contrast for it to show up on camera. I will definitely be investigating decals from this brand in the future.

But don't just take my word for it...

I stole this video, shamelessly so, from Jenne of Polished Pathology. It is a great "unboxing" style video, and basically sums up everything. I wish I would have made a video...but mine would have had a lot more of my hand shoving a cat out of the way. Elly likes to "help".

And now, for the important stuff! You can grab all of this delicious goodness at ellagee.com

I am so grateful that I got to check out this box. It is full of some really neat brands that I had never tried before, and I always like to try new things. I hope that 2016 will bring as many great things as this box did!
