Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Fall 2015: Part One

(promotional samples ahead)

Oh Fall, you bring such pretty things. I wait for you all year, and you rarely disappoint. Today's delectable pile of pretty is from Octopus Party, and there is so much amazing stuff that Dave had to break this into two parts...otherwise we could never handle the awesome.

OPNL Fall 2015: Part One

Indikon
Let's start with the shade we already know and love. Indikon is a dusty denim metallic holo. It is perfectly soft and bold at the same time. I compared it to Go Deep a few days ago, if you are curious as to how the two blues stack up against each other. The tl;dr is that they are two very different colors. I used two normal coats + Seche Vite for the photos below.

Fenrir
OPNL has so very few glittery toppers...but the ones that do exist are usually amazing. This one is no different. Fenrir is a taupey/antiqued silver flaked topper that is packed with glitters and holo and awesome. I can't even being to explain it, but I know I like it. I think this one could definitely fall into the SFW category. In a few days, hopefully, I'll share some pictures of it over a couple of different colors. (Hint: it looks wonderful over violet) For the pictures below, I used three medium coats over my bare nail + SV.

But Not In Vein
This color, ya'll. Do you look for that perfect oxblood shade every year? I do. Its a deranged polish obsession of mine. I always go looking for the next red thing...and I think this might be the color for 2015. But Not In Vein is a perfect oxblood shade filled with tiny flecks. They shift from red to almost pink at some angles, but I couldn't catch it with my camera. I used two normal coats + SV here, and I am in love. This is another SFW shade...even your grandmother will want this color.

Metaphysics
This is the delicate flower of the bunch. Metaphysics is a pale warmish iris/lavender shade that has a sprinkling of...blue flecks that are so tiny I'm not 100% they actually exist. If you missed Thermogram last year, this might be an acceptable substitute. It is a little pinker and flashier than Thermogram, but it has that same ethereal quality. I used two normal coats below plus a layer of SV.

(seriously, someone remind me in a few weeks and I will do a proper comparison of Thermogram and Metaphysics...plus a few other delicate shades that I have accidentally hoarded.)

And that is it for Part One! What do you think? Is there a shade you need here? I kinda think you need them all, but Metaphysics and But Not In Vein are so amazing that I would say to start there...but then Fenrir is so unusual and I love that...and I think Indikon could bridge the seasons...ugh, I am not helpful when it comes to narrowing down. Just buy them all, and we can wax poetic about the shiny things!

  1. I love Fenrir but almost entirely because of the name. (Okay, it's also pretty.) Nah, I'm not completely obsessed with Harry Potter.

    Just mostly.

I can't wait to see the rest!
