The Lady Varnishes Castle Beyond the Goblin City

The march of the Untrieds continues! Another polish that I bought...god, way back right after Christmas? Definitely back before this particular blog was born, and most likely when I was in the thick of my gray obsession. Either way, it got buried beneath the tsunami of glitter summer awesomness...and I forgot it completely. Until now.

After sitting for months, the white pigment in this settled considerably. I was horrified. I shook it furiously. I set it upside down for several days...and nothing. I accepted my fate and decided to try it out anyway. And yay! It looked perfect. Let this be a lesson: that horrid sinking white pigment might not be a deal breaker!

This is a delightful green-tinged gray jelly polish that is filled with cool-toned hexes of all sizes. I used three thin coats and a layer of SV, and it was nice and glossy. I did find it a little gloopy, but that might be because it has been sitting for so long. More testing is required! I like it...but I don't love it. I am not sure if I'll be throwing this up for swapsies...but I might.

So, what do you think? Do you love this gray, or was it a miss for you? I am still undecided-but-leaning-towards-like when it comes to this polish. I might try it on again once my untried box is emptied. You should never swap a polish until you've worn it for at least a week.

  1. I wanted to love it entirely based on the name, but I just don't. It's missing something, to me, that I can't quite pinpoint. Maybe a blue shimmer?

    1. Maybe? I think I am comparing this to the perfection that was Lune, the first shade I tried from this brand...I don't know if anything can compare to that one. It was just what I wanted at the time, so it was flawless.

  2. Add this to P&P Easter Egg On My Face as polishes I will take off your hands if you decide you don't want them anymore ;)

I have a few from her with the white settling too but I think it may be scent related because it never affects the color and I have other scented polishes from other brands that have it too. Or even GITD pigments too. (I also have a polish from another brand that does have white pigment settling that effects color)
Do you remember if you got this one scented or if it glows? I'm super curious to test my theory

    1. I know its not scented (I'm not crazy about those) but I will have to check about the GITD. I am still on the fence about this one...I think I just need more of her stuff so I can make an informed opinion.

  3. The shade of grey isn't my favorite, but the blue sparkle in it looks gorgeous!

  6. Yeah that white pigment/ugly bottle syndrome usually doesn't make the polish look different (THANKFULLY!). I'm with Kendahl, I like it but I think blue shimmer is a fantastic idea!

  10. Just about every indie creme polish I have has that white settling problem. One of these days I'm gonna have to get a paint shaker and see if that helps
