We all have bad hair days. Sometimes, those locks develop a mind of their own and start trying to go their own way, regardless of you attempts to style them. But imagine if your hair woes went beyond that. Imagine that your hair concerns included covering up bald spots, worrying about sunburns on your scalp, and wondering if a strong breeze will unveil uncomfortable secrets. For people with Alopecia, this is their every day concern. In order to raise awareness for this disease, Glam Polish has created an amazing blue shade. 

This polish was inspired by a young girl, Natalia Voss, who is struggling with Alopecia areata. It is an auto-immune disease that causes hair loss in patches all over the body, but when it affects the scalp it is definitely distressing. Miss Natalia name this particular shade "Bad Hair Day" which shows me that she is dealing with this condition with an amazing amount of humor and grace for a thirteen year old girl.

Different types of Alopecia affect millions of people across the globe. As a (suspected) auto-immune disease, it is not contagious...but because it is so easily seen and often "unsightly" it can draw stares and whispers. But it can be treated and managed, so I encourage anyone experiencing unusual hair loss to see a doctor to find the cause. I have a family friend with Alopecia Universalis, so I have a slight understanding of this disease. Tl;dr it can suck.

Bad Hair Day is a blueberry scattered holo with aqua, navy, cobalt and silver holo micro-glitters. If ever there was a perfectly blue shade of awesome, this one is it. I use two paper thin coats, plus a layer of the Magic Shine, and I had a super dense glittery manicure that even the brightest light couldn't shine through. If you are looking for a good soft navy glitterbomb, look no further.

I am all about good causes. This polish is beautiful and amazing to boot, so how can you go wrong? If you're in the states, there are also associations here dedicated to helping people who suffer from this disease, I recommend checking them out...after you buy this polish.
