Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Summer Collection 2015: The Restockening

promotional samples ahead

I missed the BIG reveal, for the most part. This is Round Two of the OPNL Summer collection, so at least I didn't miss the boat totally. At least I get to show off my pictures for the restock...and I have a surprise at the bottom for you...

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Summer 2015

the summer giveaway is now closed. congrats to Anna V. and thanks to everyone who entered!

It is a gloriously well-rounded eight piece collection. There is literally something for every single person to love. And somehow, they all kinda go with each other...even King Conch!

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Summer 2015

Aruba Wakening
This is a delightful delicate pale sage bursting with rainbows. I used just two coats and a layer of SV, and everything was sunshine. This reminds me of the ice plant that covers the sand dunes around here.

Teenage Bedroom
I don't even know the inspiration for this one...but oh man. It is a perfect plummy orchid holo that is luminous and glowy even indoors. Something about the reddish shades just calls to me. I used two coats and a layer of SV below. It is perfection. Just magic.

Bermuda High
This color has already been on the blog, so you can check that out if you want a full-on review. This watermelon-punch shade is amazing and deep in two coats. In the bottle it looks hard to wear because it is so warm, but I promise it is a universally flattering shade.

Krait & Barrel
Oh, you black holo. Staple of summertime as much as any neon shade. I wish the sun had been out, because the rainbow is explosive in this one. Again, two coats plus SV was just magical.

King Conch
This one is my custom. I am so glad that Dave liked it enough to share it with the world. Want to see more of this magical polish? Check out the full post here.

It Finally Happened
OPNL has a neon?! Why yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus...and he delivers year round. This crazy-bright (UV Reactive, btw) pink filled with violet flakes is opaque in two coats. I was worried because it looks so warm in the bottle, but once I slapped it on my nail I fell in love.

Piece of Caicos
Another previously reviewed shade! This summer has, thus far, been chaotic for me. Thankfully I have this tranquil aqua holo with turquoise flakes to help me relax. Three coats, followed by topper, and I was ready to roll.

Prism Sentence
The topper to end all (OPNL) toppers. It is a moderately holo topper shoved full of iridescent flakes. You can either swipe it on like a normal polish (shown below) or sponge it on for a super-dense flakegasm. I have seen this over a ton of colors...and it looks fabulous on all of them. I am itching to throw this over a nude for a sneaky sfw manicure.

I don't think I can really pick a favorite...other than King Conch of course.

and I did mention It Finally Happened was UV reactive...

And there you have it. I am sure that everyone has seen my pictures already, so this isn't a big reveal this time. BUT...at least I get partial credit for being in time for the next restock! Go stalk the facebook for the exact time and day! Until then, there is always LLarowe!

  8. Of 300 species of octopus, 400 should be named Dave. I'm not exactly sure how that would work, but it should happen.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, obviously Dave is irreplaceable, so we can't call anything else by his name. But we can call them all "Minion of Dave" (or "cenet Dave" if you want to get fancy and Latin), which has a nice important feel to it. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Approximately 276 of them. For good measure.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Only one special, there is only one special Dave <3

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  39. One octopus named Dave...only one makes it more special! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm going to try to comment again since mobile hates me. I say none! Multiple Dave's would get confusing!

    ReplyDelete
  41. You should name them all Dave but with something in front like "medium sized Dave" "Dave with blue spots" "Poisonous Dave"

    ReplyDelete
  42. 301, including the super octopus that is Dave the creator of OPNL.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  56. That is the funniest blog comment promt I've ever seen! Hmm, having given this some thought I think they should follow George Foreman's recipe. Dave, Dave the 2nd, Dave the 3rd, Dave the 728th. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Only one Octopus Dave per natural habitation zone, else it would get confusing, but definitely as many as possible without confusion setting in. Oh, forget it, bring on the confusion and name them all Dave!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Dave needs to be all the octopuses, because duh.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Just enough need to be named Dave so that they are all confused by one another.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Only 1, because Dave is a unique octopus

    ReplyDelete
  61. None of them should be called Dave.
Reason? if you then google Dave octopus, it would be a real octopus that would show up, and not your nail polish.
